Rockgarden Revisitied proudly presents the magnificent and the barmy John Otway tomorrow (Saturday 8th October) night at the Georgian Theatre, Stockton.

 

Aylesbury's finest eccentric singer songwriter with a surreal sense of humour and self-deprecating wit is coming to The Georgian Theatre. Back in the day Otway played the legendary Middlesbrough Rock Garden to an enthusiastic audience, 30-odd years later he's coming back to Teesside. Expect the hits, two of them, “Really Free” of course. I would say you should look out for a death defying leap of faith and shredded white shirt, a few eccentric shaped guitars. Actually expect the unexpected from this incredible one-off performer.

 

shrugSupport comes from my gang, Shrug, still plying our trade after 25+1 years and with a new EP to push. Too Many Cooks features a new direction Paul Smith of Maximo Park labeled as “posh.”  Tracy Hyman will be joining the band on stage and on EP on the violin.

 

But as well as “posh” Tracy, Shrug will be up to their old tricks of costume changes, pulling mad faces and playing songs with as few chords and notes as possible.

 

As if that wasn’t enough for one evening Bob Fischer will be on the trail of Lonesome Pine with his co-horts football’s Miniature G and Fly Me To The Moon’s Garry “ALB” Brogden. Expect mad sea shanties, 50s doo-wop from and more inbetween song banter than you can shake a pointy stick at. And that is quite a different matter, altogether.
