This evening (October 2nd) at the Waiting welcome to The Captain's Tower - Bob Dylan at 70 a collage/open floor night.

Various artists, poets and performers, film footage and soundtrack  will bring together a tribute night at the launch of new publication The Captain's Tower, presented by David Wolley.

Last Sunday at the Waiting Room Mr Stanley Brinks aka Andre Herman Dune and lovely French singer Freschad gave us an absolutely exquisite evening of songs. Where were you? I told you it would be one of the shows of the year.

So don’t miss out this evening.

The Captain’s Tower publication draws on the work of seventy poets from seven decades and of seven nationalities - including Simon Armitage, Caroline Bird, Matthew Caley, Jane Draycott, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Mark Ford, Linda France, Peter Finch, Allen Ginsberg, Tony Hoagland, Roddy Lumsden, Michael McClure, Roger McGough, Glyn Maxwell, Robert Minhinnick, Paul Muldoon, Jeremy Reed, Carol Rumens, Matthew Sweeney and Luke Wright - celebrate and pay tribute to Bob Dylan at seventy – acknowledging the evolution of his culturally defining, innovative and restless fifty year career within the history of recorded sound whilst invoking the canon of the spoken and written word.

There will also be an OPEN FLOOR: All-comers are invited to contribute song or spoken word at the open mic.

Tickets just £6. From 7pm

Next week... we have 30 tickets to give away to this new The Waiting Room sponsored opera - by the extraordinary sonic philanderer Ergo Phizmiz to be performed at The Waiting Room. You can find more information about this show upon our website.
