Acoustic songsmith Benjamin Francis Leftwich kicks off an extensive tour of the U.K this Friday at Stockton’s Georgian Theatre. His 24-date marathon follows the release of his debut album, Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm, plus a year that has seen him catapulted in to the mainstream.

Leftwich has been the talk of the music press in recent months with radio hotshots such as Jo Whiley, Dermot O’Leary, Zane Lowe and Greg James all pouring their support behind the young York native.

He also had two of his songs featured in the Golden Globe winning, world-wide hit TV show, Grey’s Anatomy season premiere, which aired on Fri 23 Sept; opening the US market wide open to the 22 year old.

In the last year he has released four EP’s; A Million Miles Out led to his performance at Jo Whiley’s Little Noise Sessions at the Union Chapel. His track Atlas Hands was also named as one of Whiley’s tracks of 2010.

Further accolades were heaped on Leftwich following the release of second EP Pictures. Zane Lowe named the title track the Hottest Record In The World and it also became DJ Greg James’ Record Of The Week.

In April he filled Noah & The Whale’s support slot on their UK tour, causing even more hype, and over the summer he performed at a number of festivals, including the Camden Crawl, Dot-To-Dot, Bestival and Glastonbury.

Benjamin blew crowds at Intro Festival away with his floaty, melancholic vocals and deft finger picking, if you missed out then don't make the same mistake again!

Support comes from another hot topic of the moment, Daughter; haunting vocals and tinkling guitar are the order of the day, and London based duo Monument Valley.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich + Daughter + Monument Valley, Friday 30 Sept, 8pm, £8 ADV/£10 OTD. Limited ticket availability left. Book tickets online at or call 01642 674115.
