Toploader bring new tour to Middlesbrough Town Hall

Guaranteed to get you dancing in the moonlight, sunlight and any other light you care to mention, Indie popsters Toploader are back out touring the UK after an eight year hiatus and stop off at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thurs 20 Oct.

Following lead singer Joseph Washbourn’s opera journey on ITV’s Popstar to Operastar, Eastbourne's favourite sons return to what they do best, with the ‘Only Human’ 16-date UK tour. After reuniting at guitarist Dan Hipgrave’s stag do the band conceived their latest album, Only Human, and injected it with a fresh sound that they’ve always wanted to make.

The new album saw the band work with Morrissey and Coldplay producer Danton Supple, and an album fill of potential pop classics was created. The debut single, Never Stop Wondering, became the unrivalled soundtrack for Sky Sports and BBC, cropping up on major sporting events such as the FA Cup, Formula One, Cricket World Cup and Rugby Six Nations – a national anthem if ever there was one!

The band have certainly come a long way since the release of the hauntingly catchy Achilles Heel back in 1999. A top five album, numerous festival headline slots, TV appearances and THAT song have made them one of indie's shining lights.

Capable of funky blues-rock and soaring string balladry, just try resisting the urge to sing along and tap your foot.

Offering support are two of Teesside’s brightest new bands, Collectors Club and Sister Rose. Both bands have made a huge splash since springing out of nowhere in the last year with huge performances at Intro Festival and Stockton Weekender, wooing thousands of music lovers in the process.

Tickets are now on sale and are £15 each, to book tickets, or obtain further information, call the Box Office on either 01642 729 729.
