Independent music maker David Ford, former lead singer of noughties indie band Easyworld, is back in the U.K after a successful US tour and is heading to The Georgian Theatre, Stockton on Tuesday 20 September.

Ford has garnered great critical acclaim in his years as a musician. After parting ways with Easyworld in 2004 he want on to release his debut album I Sincerely Apologise for All the Trouble I’ve Caused on the now deceased Independiente in the UK, and was signed by Sony in the US.

The album was included in Best Album of the year lists in both The Sunday Times and Word magazine. David performed sold out shows, winning fans’ hearts and reviewers’ stars.

The change in the music industry forced him to make serious changes to his set up by becoming a truly independent artist; he is now entirely funded by selling the albums he records himself and by getting out and playing to his loyal fans.

At the 2009 Latitude festival, David performed just before Thom Yorke, though his name was never on the bill. There to play keyboards in his friends’ band, Ford got bored of the acts on stage in the afternoon, took to Twitter to alert any of his own fans on site, grabbed his guitar and played an impromptu set. By the end, he had a crowd of around 400 for a performance Q magazine called “one of the festival’s highlights”.

Certainly, no-one who has seen Ford’s explosive live show - involving masterful use of a loop pedal to layer vocals and instruments - has left unconverted, from the critics who frequently give his concerts 5 stars to an American hotel chain owner, who caught a gig in London earlier this year without knowing who Ford was and was so blown away he gave the singer free hotel rooms every night on his recent US tour.

Ford is currently creating a new studio in Eastbourne to record a new set of songs that he plans to release in 3 parts.   This will comprise of 2 Ep’s and a complete full-length compilation of new work.   Vol.1 will come in September, 2 in January, and the full release is set for Spring 2012.

Tickets are now on sale on and can tickets can be purchased from www.georgiantheatre.co.uk, See tickets or call 01642 674115.
