Although the temperature is dropping outside things are really starting to hot up in Stockton as a boundless stream of talented acts make their way to the The Georgian Theatre this October.

The Good Music Club gets things going on Sat 1 Oct with a quality line up featuring Andy Jones, The Stockton Male Voice Choir, Sal Paradise and Steve McCormick.

Idlewild lead singer Roddy Woomble is out on tour with his latest album The Impossible Song and Other Songs and stops at the Georgian on Fri 7 Oct.

Woomble has become something of a folk exemplar in recent years releasing his critically acclaimed debut back in 2006, which featured artists such as Andy Cutting, Kate Rusby, Ian Carr and Karine Polwart.

The Rock Garden Revisited is back to its old tricks on Sat 8 Oct as singer songwriter John Otway heads to Stockton for a night of eccentric punk rock.

Back in the day Otway played the Rock Garden to an enthusiastic audience, and 30 years later he's coming back to Teesside. Otway is renowned for his surreal sense of humour, self-deprecating wit and hits like Really Free, Headbutts and Bunsen Burner.

Hoist the Rag return for more comedy antics as the theatre company presents SNi: Saturdaynightis 3 on Sat 15 Oct. The homegrown theatre troupe is making quite a name for themselves with their night of wild entertainment and this month’s event will be the first time a charge is introduced.

With the usual array of filmed sketches, spontaneous hilarity and the steamiest jazz, soul and alt tunes courtesy of genuine smooth operator DJ Elegant Soul taking us into the early hours. It promises to be, as ever, Teesside's biggest and best cabaret style, improvised Comedy-themed night; and worth every penny!

Lots more local talent is on offer starting with five piece indie-rockers The Bends, who bring their blend of uplifting synths, powerful rhythm and bass and good old fashioned song-smithery to the Georgian on Fri 21 Oct. Support comes from fellow talented Teessider’s The Heist and Andy X.

On Sat 22 Oct No School Reunion and Little Pink Polliwog, two of Teesside’s punk rock majors, take to the stage for what is guaranteed to be a raucous night of music. "Swaggering angry clever punk rock that has no intention of following the rules.” ORGANZINE on NSR.

The venue closes the month with a weekend of Halloween celebrations starting with a very special sing-a-long screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Fri 28 Oct. The film which stars Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon has a major cult following and features classic numbers such as Sweet Transvestite, Dammit, Janet and Time Warp.

On Sat 29 Oct The Georgian Theatre Halloween Ball returns after a hugely successful debut in 2010. This year is set to be a real scream with a live band knocking out Halloween hits, gory burlesque, horror flicks playing on the big screen, a blood curdling cocktail list on offer and, of course, the Halloween party favourite - a fancy dress competition where only the biggest and baddest win!

Tickets for both events are £4 in advance but book for both and pay just £6 a ticket!

Events at The Georgian Theatre sell quickly so pre-booking is always advised.
