The Georgian Theatre is set to play host to a major celebration this Saturday (28 May) as local boys Jimmy & The Sounds celebrate the launch of their new single, Little Victories, with a mini festival featuring some of their favourite bands.

This will be the bands fourth single release and they’re celebrating in style as their rise to prominence continues at full speed. The band recently headlined Middlesbrough’s contribution to Radio 1’s One Big Weekend; they played to crowds at Centre Square, Middlesbrough, before Sunday’s headliner Lady Gaga came on.

They have also just been added to the Saturday of Stockton Weekender alongside Maximo Park, Cast and The Chapman Family.

Helping the band celebrate is a selection of acts that they consider to be  ‘one’s to watch’. Heading over from Liverpool are Fly With Vampires who recently blew crowds at Stockton Calling away. Smashing out indie rock with plenty of heart, soul and massive sing along choruses.

Local acts involved include Be Quiet. Shout Loud! who also played the One Big Weekend event in Middlesbrough, and are quite possibly the most exhilarating live experience around with a 6 man line up that leads to on stage mayhem.

Young Hegelians inclusion in the line up is no surprise as the band is making quite a name for their selves. After a blistering performance at Stockton Calling their off kilter post-punk, al la Talking Heads and Gang of Four, is gaining them quite a hefty live following.

The Port Authority combines crafty rifts and killer hooks that are so enticing they’ve bagged a slot at Intro Festival. Completing the line up is Phil Saunders who recently added his ramshackle, rabble rousing acoustic led folk punk to the Ed Tudor Pole at The Georgian Theatre.

Once the bands have finished the entertainment will continue into the early hours with DJ sets from Hendy (Diamond Dogs) and Team Spadger.

Jimmy & The Sounds 'Little Victories' Mini Fest, Saturday 28 May, 8pm, £4 ADV/£6 OTD. Book tickets online at www.georgiantheatre.co.uk or call 01642 674115.
