Bands and solo artists from across the region are being sought by organisers to take part in a collaborative project resulting in the production of an exciting new music video.

Leading music development agency Generator and regional screen agency Northern Film & Media, are working together on a multi-stage project for musicians, music producers and film makers in the North East.

Bands and solo-artists (from any genre) are invited to send in one track to be considered by a panel of music industry experts.  The best six tracks will be uploaded for a public vote, before a winning track is chosen and remixed by a top producer.

But the collaboration doesn’t stop there.  Once the final track is remixed, the chosen artist and remixer will work with an emerging film maker, chosen by Northern Film & Media, to produce an industry standard music video, to be launched at a high profile event later in the year.

Generator CEO, Jim Mawdsley, said: “The recent popularity of high profile remixes such as Skream’s remix of La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill,’ proves just how effective musical collaboration can be.  We are excited to be working alongside Northern Film & Media to offer emerging artists the opportunity to work with producers and film makers in the North East.”

Creative Industry Director for Northern Film & Media, Agnes Wilkie, said: “Northern Film & Media is excited and delighted at this opportunity to help bring the region’s most talented musicians together with its equally talented film makers to work collaboratively and imaginatively on a project that will put both sectors firmly in the national spotlight. Sound & Vision provides a brilliant platform for NFM and our partners Generator to demonstrate the wealth of talent and creativity in the North East and give it a commercial edge in a global market.”

To submit your track for consideration, send your music digitally via or send physical copies of your music, along with a biog and photo to Joe Frankland, Generator, Cluny Annex, 36 Lime Street, Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle, NE1 2PQ

DON’T MISS OUT – Deadline for submission is Friday 26th February
