A new North Yorkshire coastal arts organisation – Landfall – will present a magical night of comedy in a wholly unique setting: the pitch black darkness of a converted chapel in the heart of the picturesque seaside village, Robin Hood’s Bay.

Landfall is brought to you by the same creative team behind Deer Shed Festival - the 10,000-capacity family festival just outside of Thirsk. Deer Shed has gained acclaim for developing a unique arts programme throughout its nine year history, and it aims to transport this to the coast with Landfall.

At Comedy in the Dark, the audience's senses are heightened and things look and sound different, as a top class line-up of comedians perform in a concert hall with no lights and no chance of spotting familiar faces – far from any comedian’s comfort zone.

This unique comedy experience, originally developed by Big Difference Productions in association with Leicester Comedy Festival, arrives in Robin Hood’s Bay after sell-out shows across the UK and Europe.

The event will take place on the 27th January in the Swell Café Bar chapel, which overlooks a stunning North Sea expanse.

Past acts include Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Jon Richardson, Shappi Khorsandi and Greg Davies, with the Robin Hood’s Bay line-up to be announced soon. It is, according to Time Out, “destined to become one of the most talked about shows”.

Tickets (£12 + booking fee) and more information can be found at www.landfall.org.uk, or from the Swell café venue.

Quality food and drink, both soft and alcoholic, will be available from Swell café. To book a table for dining prior to the performance, contact the venue on info@swell.org.uk.

Doors open at 5pm for food and drink; first act on at 7.45pm.
