Over to Lefty to tell us more.

It is a full day's event running from 12 noon to 10.30pm.

It is a big party on the pitch. At one end of the ground is a large stage where we'll be having a variety of music acts throughout the day. I'll post a detailed list later, but there will be rock, there will be a bit of classical, some jazz and blues, some indie pop, Motown/Soul and, believe it or not, a virtuoso xylophone player

There will be cold beer, lager and cider. There is wine. There is a XXXXXXtail bar, there is a Pimms and Prosecco Stall.

Around the rest of the ground there will be things like Hog Roast, Fish and Chips, an Ice Cream Van, a traditional sweet stall.

There are face painters and a balloon man. We've a large inflatable bouncy assault course which will be free for the kids to go on all day.

There are mini games such as, off the top of my head, beat the goalie (Hockey) and beat the goalie (Football), beat the batsman (cricket), there is a putting challenge, some sort of cycling challenge, I think there is a sponsored all over male body waxing for budding transvestites, I think there is a coconut shy. We have a raffle (top prize 50 inch telly). There is a Tombola.

There is something called an inflatable dual bungee run.

There is going to be some rolling on/off games of junior football, hockey and cricket to keep the kids occupied all day.

It is a safe environment kids. The ground is enclosed. We have G4S doing the security, we have insurance, we have St Johns Ambulance in attendance, we have gone through all the health and safety requirements and risk assessments and crb checks.

For this we're charging £2 for kids.

For adults we're charging £8.

Did I mention the cans will be nice and cold? We've refrigerators and ice machines.

Did I mention our fabulous local promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold are supplying us with 3 acts?

So not only is there a variety of music, we've got covers bands doing songs you'll know and original up and coming artists who are making a splash on the music scene nationally.

If you're the sort who sits at home and never goes out to see live music, or you just stick to the genre you like, here is the chance to broaden your experience and you can chat with your friends with a cold beer while the kids are off enjoying themselves at the same time.

One final point, we only have 2,000 tickets. That is limited by the licence. We'd already sold over half by last Thursday when a leaflet drop went into every home in Marton (that is 4,350 homes) and the response has picked up since then. If you like the sound of this don't leave it too late to call in the club for tickets.

By the way, tickets will be exchanged on the door for wrist bands so you can come and go as much as you please on the day.

Marton Cricket Club is opposite Marton Country Club and next to the Rudds Arms, Stokesley Road, Marton.
