This year’s multi-venue music spectacle Stockton Calling takes place on the international Record Store Day, Saturday 19th April, and in celebration will host six free showcases at Sound It Out Records throughout the 19th.

The event organisers and Sound It Out have led up to the big day with eight free in store performances from local acts playing the all day music extravaganza.

This Saturday's Sound It Out in-store is local band Serinette. Their brand of soaring female-fronted melodic indie pop is a real winner. The 2014 4Play competition-winning band will perform at 2PM and entry is completely free.

On Saturday 19th April as ARC, KU, The Georgian Theatre, The Green Room, Storytellers, The Vault, The Sun Inn and the H.M Bark Endeavour will welcome hundreds of music lovers through their doors, Sound It Out will pluck six of the out of town acts from the days line up to perform within their intimate, hallowed walls.

Record Store Day is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store — the staff, the customers, and the artists — to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned businesses play in their communities.

As well as special vinyl and CD releases available, a selection of artists set to play Stockton Calling will pop up for some incredibly intimate and unforgettable performances at Teesside’s last remaining record shop.

Amongst the acts performing are Georgian Theatre headliners, Public Service Broadcasting, who are releasing a special edition of their track Elfstedentocht Pts 1 & 2 on heavyweight white 7” vinyl for the day.

Also set to perform are fellow Georgian Theatre act Lola Colt, Blackpool rockers Darlia from ARCs line up, NME favourites and KU act Superfood, avant garde songstress Zyna Hel off The Green Room stage and H.M Bark Endeavour's Algiers.

Performances start from 1pm and will last 30 minutes each. Entry is free and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets for Stockton Calling are £15 in advance and selling fast. Book online at, 01642 525199/01642 674115 or buy them in person at ARC or Green Dragon Studios.
