The Middlesbrough Milk Rollers will be rolling around in jelly tomorrow night at Uncle Alberts. They want you to come along and sing in their punk rock karaoke. girls are trying to raise money for a super exciting massive event coming your way in September called Northern EXPOsure so we are sorting out some super exciting fundraisers over the summer.

First up we have a karaoke night with a difference…Everyone loves karaoke right? There's not many nights in Boro to do this, so where do you go when you want the chance to make an idiot of yourself crooning to Lionel Richie and the like?

Well, you can come and rock out to your hearts content with our special punk rock (in attitude not just playlist) karaoke at Uncle Alberts.

Aswell, as this we also have all - girl jelly wrestling. You can see your favourite MMR girls pitted against each other in a wibbly wobbly mass of jelly. Saucy!

We'll also have roller waitresses serving drinks plus cakes and all that sort of stuff.

And it's FREE!

What is roller derby?

Roller derby is perfect sport for the recession– cheaper than the gym, and more fun and safer than running alone in the park.

Based on formation roller skating around a track, roller derby is fast and furious, and it’s the sport for girls who don’t usually like team sports; for those who like to meet new drinking partners, who want to look hot, but still eat parmos.

Each player chooses a unique skate name and the Middlesbrough Milk Rollers include Germaine Leer, Rita Von Sleaze, Darcey Hustle, Oompah Thump-Ya!, Eve O’Lution, Pink-A-Boo, Fraulein Wonder, Smokin Ace, Bette Pinch, Fay DeathWray Noise Pollution and Moody Fuse.

It's competitive but friendly, and with more than 9,000 players registered internationally, roller derby is one of Britain's fastest-growing grassroots sports.
