The Boro Becks Project has launched a new walk leaflet to guide people around some of Middlesbrough’s most historic sites.

The trail follows a five-mile circular route along Ormesby and Middle Becks, linking the beautiful landscapes of Ormesby Hall and Stewart Park.

Community Outreach Officer Chris Corbett said: “The route takes you past a range of buildings, some dating back several hundred years.

“The historic information in the leaflet brings these places and the people who lived there back to life and summer is an ideal time to enjoy the walk under shady trees and around flowery meadows.”

The walk is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and with cafes and facilities available along the route, it is particularly good for local families looking for adventure on their doorstep.

Artist Helen Jane Gaunt was commissioned to provide the original artwork and local designer Mike Coward of MC Creative Designs developed the leaflet.

Leaflets are available in local libraries, community centres and museums or call the Boro Becks Team on 01642 515618 to request a copy.

The leaflet can also be downloaded from the Boro Becks page on the Middlesbrough Council website - type ‘Boro Becks Project’ in to the search box on the home page.
