The Wok Stop gets on board for Middlesbrough Music Live

One of the Middlesbrough’s brightest new small businesses has become the first to sign up as a ‘Target 100’ sponsor of this year’s Middlesbrough Music Live.

The Wok Stop on Linthorpe Road has become a magnet for people who love healthy alternative cooking since it opened it’s doors in September last year.

Now, the shop looks like being the first of many small businesses who, for just £100, could see their logo displayed on a huge sponsors board near the Main Stage at this year’s festival, which last year attracted over 47,000 people.

Record crowds are expected for this year’s 10th anniversary event on Sunday June 7, with top indie faves The Zutons already confirmed as headliners.

Organised by Middlesbrough Council in partnership with local promoters Ten Feet Tall, MML is now firmly established as one of the freshest and best-respected free festivals in the country, with audience figures rising almost tenfold since the event first began.

David Porter, 26, owner of The Wok Stop, said: “I’m a huge fan of Middlesbrough Music Live. It’s fantastic for the town, there’s always an amazing atmosphere, and I literally jumped at the chance to be involved.”

Cllr David Budd, Executive Member for Regeneration & Economic Development, said: “It’s great to have The Wok Stop on board as the first ‘Target 100’ sponsor. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for the local business community to get involved in this year’s Festival, and by offering a great sponsorship package from just £100, it means that even the smallest local business can be part of an amazing event.”
