Middlesbrough Music Live became national news over the weekend, when it was chosen as one of The Daily Telegraph’s ‘best 100 music festivals’ of this summer!

Listed in date order from May-September, The Telegraph’s annual ‘Summer Music Festival Guide’ picked out MML as one of this year’s highlights alongside legendary events including Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight, Womad, Reading/Leeds, and V Festivals.

Organised by Middlesbrough Council in partnership with local promoters Ten Feet Tall, MML is now firmly established as one of the freshest and best-respected free festivals in the country, with audience figures rising almost tenfold since the event first began.

Record crowds are expected for this year’s 10th anniversary event on Sunday June 7, with top indie favourites The Zutons already confirmed as headliners.

Graham Ramsay of Ten Feet Tall said: “That’s just great news. The Telegraph actually called us this time round to say they were big fans and asked what was happening this year. We told them and they seemed really impressed. It just shows we’ve got something special going on up here, and that we can stand proudly shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest summer events in the land.”

Cllr David Budd, Middlesbrough’s Executive Member for Regeneration & Economic Development, said: “It’s great to be picked in The Telegraph’s top 100. It’s no accident that the Festival has picked up such a great reputation over the years. The town centre has a great range of sites and venues, with all the stages just a few minutes walk from each other, and this really helps set Middlesbrough Music Live apart from virtually every other music festival in the country.”

Middlesbrough Music live takes place this year on Sunday June 7. Further information and line-ups will be announced throughout the coming weeks. For information on the range of sponsorship opportunities available for small businesses at this year’s Middlesbrough Music Live, email:
