What is it with us and deadlines this season? First we bring out issue 2 and the club sack Hughton a day or two later , and then we bring out issue 4 and Carroll goes right at the death of the transfer window. If Mike Ashley has sold the club by the time you have read this then don’t say you we didn’t warn you. I was stuck in the middle of the maelstrom that saw Andy leave for Anfield and I’m glad that I was able to help him put his side forward. We all know that we are a selling club and I really can’t blame Andy for leaving when it appears that the club has no ambition and clearly wanted the money. What would you do in his situation? I know what I would do If I worked for somebody and they were pointing me in the direction of a helicopter ready for take off,  to take me to a new job where I was getting paid three times my weekly wage and who actually wanted me. I’m as gutted as the next man that he has gone but it’s history now and we have to move on.

Where to is the question. Alan Pardew insists the money will be spent. It’s a clever play on words because he doesn’t say what it will be spent on! A night out at a Casino perhaps? More signs for a well known sports shop? I’m sorry for the negativity but I just can’t see it being spent on players. The summer will see more players leave and I’m sure Jose will join Andy at Liverpool. We will no doubt bring in some players from the Championship as we pick at the carcasses of those relegated from the Premiership.

We have had, in my eyes, a successful season. We were looking at fourth bottom in August as our target and we are going to finish in a more comfortable position than many of us could have hoped for. Kevin Nolan and the team deserve a huge pat on the back for the way that they have applied themselves this season despite the usual rollercoaster ride that they have had to endure at St James. The highs for me have been the 4 points taken off Sunderland and the whopping of Villa and the away form that has seen us record wins at places like Arsenal and Chelsea. The lows have been the erratic home form and the early exits in the Cup competitions and of course the sale of Andy Carroll.

Had a chuckle at one of the other fanzines on the market last month. Seems like we are getting up a couple of  middle aged political junkies noses (with terrible dress sense I hasten to add)  who have had it there own way for too long. I’m too old for playground spats with people who should know better. I think it has made a refreshing change have two new fanzines on the market and I hope that there are many more to come. There are so many fans out there with something to say within our support and it’s been a pleasure to provide a new ‘original’ platform for some new faces to say it. We don’t do it for the money (‘cos there isn’t any in this game), we do it because we love ‘our’ club and we love you! We will be back in August. Hope you all have a great summer and thanks for your support. We will be updating our site www.fansonline.net/newcastleunited throughout the summer so book mark us and pop in and say hello.

I’ll leave you with this little gem from our resident poet Davey Brown.

The mackems are coming, bolt all your doors

Hide all your jewellery under the floor

Zip up your pockets, keep everything tight

From a busload of thieves from the stadium of shite

They'll climb in your garden and rifle your bins

They live on Pot Noodles and and leftover things

They'll break through a window and steal all your goods

Then back to the camp in pennywell woods

Shellsuits are fashion down sunderland way

Brighthouse your saviour with 5 years to pay

You wash in the Wear and struggle to cope

You don't understand the reason for soap

Your women are grannies when they reach twenty-nine

Your dream holiday is a day on the Tyne

You look in the mirror and think 'what a mess'

And sleep with your brother in his matalan dress
