So important we turn up

So far this season, as mentioned in my last article things have been so, so inconsistent.  We really need to fix this.  Starting this weekend.  There is a nice buzz around all things black and white at the moment brought on by a few decent results and regaining the status of north east’s top dogs.  As if we ever lost it.  Seeing good old Darren Bent drop the mackems in the shite has filled us all with a little joy and we really need to come out of the upcoming Spurs game with all this happiness intact.  Don’t get me wrong if I’d been offered a top ten finish before the start of the campaign I would of took it and ran like mad, but for me there is more to be had.  The extras I speak of are not important, just nice bonus’s to aim for.  Survival as ever is first and foremost but why shouldn’t we have a cheeky crack at Europe.  If the mackems can claim they are on a euro push, well we are in just as good a position.

What team will turn up at the weekend though?

There is no way of knowing.  This season we have gone from strong, hard to beat grafters to weak, lazy soft centred non performers on a week to week basis.  For me this game is massive as that away point at the mackems (if we forget our head to head rivalry for a second) means nothing if we don’t get something out of this one.  Nobody expects us to get anything, but we really do have to perform.  We have a great record against this lot and a point or even three this weekend would be massive.

I think we should have a bash with both Barton and Nolan in the centre of the park.  You don’t always need a defensive midfielder and for me this game could be about who scores the most goals.  This tends to be the way with Spurs.  Reckon we could be looking at a 3-3, 4-3 kind of score line.  Not sure who would get the nod on the right for me.  If he had been fit Gosling would walk it but seems, now that Routledge has done one that only Guthrie remains.  This will probably force Pardews hand and mean Barton stays on the right and although he has been awesome from there I think he would be even more effective in the middle.  With injuries though, choices are very limited at the minute.  Surely they have a right winger lined up.

The wheels are falling off up the road and I want the pressure that kills the unwashed to be pressure applied by the mighty black and whites. Come on lads!!!

Quick mention for Danny Gosling gutted for the lad to miss a few more games as announced today but I’m sure he will be back soon and prove an asset to the squad.  Seems to be one of the genuine guys in football and I really like the look and sound of the lad. Good look lad.
