Watching the mags has never been easy

What a strange season this has been so far.  I’m sure everybody will agree.  Dodgy statements, peculiar signings to go with good signings, management backing followed by management sacking, classy performances to go with dogged ones and a fan base always flickering between happy and sad.  Throw in some results that are about as consistent as John Terrys bedroom guests and there you have it.  Half a season of absolute mass confusion.

Yes, by looking at our league position you have to say we are doing really well.  Having a great season considering the misdemeanours of recent campaigns.  Andy Carroll has hit the premiership runway as smooth as could be imagined, Joey Barton is on fire, Kevin Nolan’s shooting boots are as sharp as ever and we have beaten Liverpool, Arsenal and the mackems quite comfortably.  All seems so positive.

If you ignore the league table and just think the season over in your head though, this is where the confusion hits.  Ben Arfa broke his leg,  Blackpool done us at home,  the trusty, much liked Chris Hughton was sacked,  he was strangely replaced by Mr Pardew, Carroll became a raver, a fighter and a cheater( All in a week), Bartons right hook returned,  Steven Taylor was offski and Leon best was still here.  Sol Campbell, who I thought would be one of the signings of the season, has so far flopped and Mike Ashley is still fat fucking bastard. Ups and downs???  This takes the piss.

It was the goings on of the last week that really hit this home.  An awesome display against the hopeless hammers. The lads were fantastic, even without big Andy which surprised me.  5-1, even against a struggling team wasn’t expected.  I definitely thought we had seen our landslide results for one season.  #LeonBestIsMint scored a fucking hat-trick.  He sums this club up, up and down like theres nowt the matter.  We followed this up with quite possibly the worst performance I’ve seen from a side in black and white in at least the last five seasons.  That takes a lot considering we have been relegated in that time and been through god knows how many gaffers.  It was horrible.

As you can probably tell by reading this addition to my blog I’m slightly baffled by the goings on this year.  I’m so happy with how we are doing, and sometimes with how we are playing, but my god I crave some consistency.  League position, goal difference and confidence seem to be all so good, yet there are so many things that have pissed me off this season.

Newcastle never has and never will be an easy watch.
