4-3 at Chelsea? You sure? Of course it was. What a feeling that gave us. It was an awesome showing and an awesome result, one that Mr Hughton and the lads who played that night should take huge credit for.  We were by far the weaker side on paper but managed a magnificent result.  Work the following day was so much easier than normal.

Since then though things have taken a slight turn for the worse. We have found ourselves well below par at home against stoke and coming well undone.  Result wise and consequence wise at Citeh things were very much the same but in all honesty the performance was one to be proud of.  We deserved much more than we left with.  So on paper it seems things are slightly gloomy at the minute but as I keep reiterating in my blog.  I’m not worried.  Yes, back to back negative results but performance wise at Citeh it was as good as I’ve seen us play away from home at this level in quite some time.  We should be rolling into the Wigan game with a good level of confidence and looking to put the frighteners up the mackems before the Halloween clash. I can’t wait.  If you need any more motivation than that, please leave my club.

Despite the awesome performance at the City of Manchester we did take some pretty awful stuff home as well.  In the form of Hatem Ben Arfa's leg in bits.  It’s a nasty injury which I wouldn’t wish on anybody and I hope so much that the lad is given a chance, once recovered, to play in black and white.  From what I can gather he seemed to like it here and he definitely was growing on the mag society.  Hopefully there will be a way for us to keep him after what is definitely going to be a tough time for the lad.  All the best HBA.

Going to finish with a little bit of praise for the club and not even on the pitch either.  Strange I know.  Andy Carroll has committed himself to the club for the next 5 seasons and with the rumoured interest in the lad I reckon the club have done a great job in getting him to sign.  He most definitely has to be part of our long term plans as well as those of the national side.  I’m sure many debts could have been paid off with the money people would have offered for a lad of his age and the potential he shows. Sensible stuff and we have done really well to resist. Great deal done. Nice to have you on board Andy.
