Covid Test Results Advice

A relative had a test on Tuesday evening having shown symptoms.
They were told response would come via text and/or email.
On Wednesday afternoon they received an email saying the test was not effective and needed to be retaken.
They went straight back to the test centre and had another test (within an hour of receiving the email)
About an hour after the second test they received a text to repeat what was in the first email.
Not knowing what test the text referred to they contacted the results/testing people who couldn't categorically say one way or the other - although believed it would be unlikely to be so fast a response to a 2nd test.
Since then no email or text.
They haven't a clue what to do.
Anyone with any inside info able to help?

I do not have inside knowledge, i would phone the number they were given, in the info pack, just to get some clarification, my results came back quick, but not that quick. I Suppose they could requset a diy kit and do it again. But the test i found was unpleasant.

3 of my friends had tests so together recently.
Their tests all came back as ‘inconclusive’ which can mean lots of things.
They managed to repeat the tests off the same samples which is weird.
All clear.

I wouldn’t trust any RT-PCR test as far as I could throw it as it’s so prone to error. Even it’s inventor said it was unsuitable for virus testing. Weird

Hmmmm

It makes you think about how accurate the much vaunted "take at home and get a result in 20 minutes" test will be.

Durktron - so you'd be happy for this person who may be COVID positive to wander around passing it to other people?

You'd be happy for them to pass it to someone who then dies from this?

Just because the person who is currently positive gets better doesn't mean the person they pass it to will.

GROW UP

Yeah I would be very happy if nobody got tests or just ignored the scaremongering media.
Then our lives will be back to normal, do some research mate and stop believe the bbc and question things.

Never have I known a virus where you need a test to tell you if you had/have it [:D][?]
Very very strange indeed.

Durktron - My father lives in a care home due to mobility issues.

He was in full health and then one of the care workers brought COVID into the home. He caught it and passed away.

But for you that's fine I suppose

Sorry to hear about anybody's losses but at the end of the day we can't just hide forever theres billions of other disease and illnesses that also needs treatment, people are losing out on this treatment because of the fear then media have put into people there is no need at all.
The care homes from the beginning should of been locked down and had proper equipment in place and then alot of lives would of been saved no doubt.
The fault is the government failure to act blame them and not me for wanting to live my life again.

AyresomeAvenger - my dad had a test the other day. He got an email and a text message so I imagine they both relate to the first test.

Also they gave him like a barcode and said if he didn't get a response within a certain amount of time then to contact them and quote that. If they are really unsure I suppose you could try contacting the helpline and quote the one they were given on the second test to see what the results were.

I work in a hospital ,on going for test prior to being at work I asked should I still go to work next day. Yes I was told so effectively I could have passed it on to others. Glad to say I was negative 24 hrs. later.

Just to update opening post nothing further arrived so it seems the 2nd test was defective too.
Third time lucky?
Apparently this is not as unusual as you'd think.

The 2nd message was within an hour of the 2nd test.

A test result won't be back within an hour. No chance.

The pcr tests give a false positive. It is not an accurate test to locate a virus, that's why it's being used. Crazy? Google it.
They multiply the test up to 45 times, 45!!!even to find the remnants of a virus you might have had 5 years ago. This is from an official NHS document.
It's all about falsifying the cases.
I wish people would try and gain a bit of understanding and knowledge, instead of happily indulging amongst the fear and propaganda .

I took my 2 kids for a test. Found it near impossible to swab the back of the throat and up the nose, both were wretching. How are you supposed to properly test kids? (mine are 7 and 10). Waiting for results now but assume they will be unsatisfactory. We are both teachers and been told we can't go back to work until test result known. What do you do? Also, we live in Bristol and had to go to Cardiff for testing. All they did at the station was give us a kit to use in the car. They wouldn't take contact details at the testing station so had to phone up to give bar codes. Took 90 minutes to get through.
Conclusion is the testing procedure and service is unsatisfactory.
