6000 sold.

Seems like this hasn't been thought through.....

Or perhaps it has. Perhaps they are waiting to see what restrictions are placed into the club before potentially over-subscribing with season card sales and then, being accused of not thinking things through. Sometimes you can't win.

It actually makes absolute sense to me.
Those who have already renewed will be allowed entry even if the capacity is variably reduced.
I haven't yet renewed so accept I would miss out.
But if the Club are permitted gradually higher capacity they should then sell the extra capacity to 2019-20 season ticket holders based on longevity, with Gold Card holders having first option to buy tickets at SC rate and then by patron number. This would rightly reward longevity.

Then in the unlikely event of remaining capacity, that would be available at match day price.

The Club should not sell more SC's for a season they don't know what their capacity will be allowed to be.

This represents an opportunity to reset the Club's pricing policy.
I think they have done the right thing in freezing until there is more certainty.

I agree, sometimes you canít and Iím the last person to criticise the people that make these decisions but for me restricted numbers in grounds has been known about for some time. People are bound to be disgruntled if they arenít able to renew and preference is given to those that have.

The problem with that Indeedido (and I agree with the overall approach) is that it should have been communicated in advance.

Bit up in the air still isn't it?

Not sure what to do.

Gold Card holder but Shielding.
I know that's officially about to end.

But with this Greater Manchester thing will it be extended?

Far too many uncertainties at the moment for me to spunk that sort of money.

It is a bit like the lockdown lottery at the moment.
Right decision to locally lockdown, but the communication was shambolic, when the chances of having to locally lockdown have been known for months now, certainly weeks.
In defence of Bausor as a parallel here, I would say he is in less control of events than the Government. I think they have done the right thing and balanced being able to accommodate those who have renewed, whilst buying time to figure what to do with those who will renew on revised Early Bird timeline.

There will be criticism either way I guess.
Tough time to be a leader.

They have got the manager decision right which is what I most cared about.[:D]

we all want to get back to the games ASAP, but I would have thought allowing 15,000+ into an 'open air' venue for approx. 2 hours, is a lot 'safer' than allowing 300-400 on a plane for a 3+ hour flight.

Or am I wrong ?

I'm sure club chairmen and the footballing bodies will be in close consultation with the Government as we speak. I did hear it mentioned a while back that they were contemplating a 25% stadium capacity restriction for the forthcoming campaign. This could restrict the Riverside to about 8000, so it makes sense to stop SC sales at 6000. It will also avoid the potentially messy administration involved in making refunds.
Further to these restrictions I wonder how they getting on with the inevitable social distancing for the boxes, that could be a potentially expensive loss.

As a 33 year ST/SC holder who missed the hastily arranged deadline I have to say fair play to those who renewed early. But the cynic in me can't help thinking the club are holding a number of tickets back for more lucrative matchday sales.

£35 to watch Wycombe Wanderers on a cold tuesday night, anyone?

I can see the club losing a lot long term season ticket holders because of Covid19 ground closures. I'm sure suspending season ticket sales like this will be enough to push some away from the club.

I agree with the suspension to avoid all of the refund hassle. I wish I had renewed but I renew 2 tickets at a time and my mate is / was shielding.

I just hope we don't loose our seats when we are allowed back in particularly as the save your seat deadline was on hold.

Stood to reason that the capacity would be reduced. I can understand those that have isolate, but those that missed it didnt think quick enough.

I renewed my season ticket but when I think about it I won't be going until the virus has gone completely. I have been shielding and now looks like it's getting worse.
This may just be the end of me going to the games.

I renewed but I do feel for anyone who could miss out because they held on, for a number of reasons
I dont think demand will be too high though.
It could be a good sales move.
As when they go back on sale, it could generate a few sales utb

The people most at risk of dying from COVID[rle]

Why didn't they just set a deadline so everyone knew where they stood?

Why not look after those who have already paid and those who have had season tickets since the Riverside opened.
Seems like a very fair system to me.

And Iím guessing you donít like it cos it doesnít suit you?

Donít get how anyone can think that giving the fans who have been stumping money to the club continuously for 25 years shouldnít get first dibs. Would be a disgrace if they didnít.

It looks like with the capacity constraints not everyone who wants one may get one, in which case the fairest thing to do is give everyone who already has one the chance to renew now the picture is a bit clearer, and have a waiting list/lottery for anything left over. The club would be mad to enter their longest standing and most lucrative customers into a lottery when they bang on about loyalty every time renewal time comes round.
