McClaren- oh how the mighty have fallen

Allegedly linked to the Dundee United job. He really has slidden down the slippery slope. Had his best days with us. He really should have appreciated those days. Great manager but when with us looking for greener grass.

That to me is why he doesnt get the acclaim his achievements deserve. Self inflicted Im afraid.

'Great manager but when with us looking for greener grass.'

Which young english coach wouldn't take the national job? [rle]

Not too sure why people would want to scorn and bring shame on SMac hes been a decent manager/coach and achieved quite a lot during his career some rarely get out of the lower leagues. Now hes having to go to Scotland to get a chance good for him Id say at least hes willing to accept another challenge in a different environment.

Pretty sure it's fake story?

The only thing there was 1 thing Steve have done naughty was met a woman and stayed overnight in the hotel in Manchester while he was FC Twente manager around that time but I sure that he was having marriage problem before reconnected each other again with his wife... Google it if you want...

I am appreciative of him in delivering our one and only cup win, I think virtually every Boro fan would share that appreciation.

Any manager should be universally hailed for this. However he failed to really connect with the fans. I believe he thought he was bigger and better than managing us. With the one exception- Twente, his managerial career is littered with sackings.

I dont know if he appreciated how good he had it at Boro.

Weird one, Stevie Mac.

You look at his career and you'd say:

Top, top class coach
Ego, not liked very much at most of the clubs he's managed
Some really terrible career choices for a bloke so focused on his career

England was a no-brainer, even though he was out of his depth who wouldn't take that job. But then...

Leaving Twente as a hero to get fired by Wolfsburg, then back to Twente? Taking the job at three pure basket case clubs - Forest, QPR and the biggest basket case of them all, Newcastle? Going back to Derby and lasting five months?

Anyone who takes the Newcastle job has got problems but McClaren has a habit of failing in a big job, then picking his next few jobs terribly which can only ruin his reputation further. Then after a while you run out of options.

Really he should at least be having a Moyes-like career, kicking around the lower to mid table PL.

Always like that he kept living in Yarm though, nice to have an ex-England manager on your doorstep.

But I wanted to tell you a tale..

It involves betting something I hardly ever do..

Once a year I have 5 on the Eurovision Song Contest..

For two years it has gone on the Lithuanian Entry..

As you can imagine I lost 2 years on the blob..

Thanks to this Panfckingdemic it was cancelled..

The only year I had a chance IT WAS CANCELLED

Hows that for good fortune..

Let's not forget the great times we had twice travelling in Europe with the Boro when SM was manager.

It seems like some want to take some sort of strange satisfaction from his so called demise.

Most Boro fans will take the opposite view.
