A storm in a tea cup or something more sinister?

Like the Tories & money, the Libs & Pedophiles the smell of Antisemitism & Labour just wont go away.

What do these never ending whiffs say about British politics today?

Just everything about her says nasty spiteful little madam. Sir Kier doing the right thing now draining the pond. Once all of momentum are cleared out Labour will be electable again.

Starmer had no choice. He has to be extra tough on anything that smells of antisemitism. The idiots calling for her reinstatement continue to show why the Corbynistas were unable to deal with antisemitism.

The country is in the state it is today because under Corbyn, and moment there was no viable option to what we have, perhaps now there is

What she said (albeit second-hand) was anti-semitic, plain and simple. It was right of Starmer to sack her instead of fudging the issue as Corbyn would have done.

What mickgaz said.

Incredibly lightweight, dullard politician who would teach her children that every bad guy in a fairy tale comes from Israel.

All she had to do was retract it, just like the woman who initially wrote it did. But she refused so she had to go.

It's actually a PR victory for Labour IMO. Sir Keir done good and the Tory party won't be too chuffed.

Donít be too sure of that Casino. The lefty big guns of Corbin and Abbott are coming out in her defence and Momentum have a petition with 10,000 signatures on for her to be brought back.

This is gonna snowball yet again unless Sir Kier has a full scale clear out and moves the party to the right a bit to stand any chance of removing these negative influences, otherwise he is lost as a party of opposition.

Iíve always been a Tory supporter but we do need strong opposition to hold any sort of account.... something thatís been missing for 10years now

There are a lot more "bigs" other than "Gun" that could be used to describe Abbott.

Is what she retweeted actually antisemitic, or just a factually incorrect statement criticising Israel? Antisemitism is defined as prejudice against Jews, not Israel (some of the citizens of which are other religions too). As the tweet actually gives a factually incorrect statement about US police too, by the same logic as accusing her of antisemitism, is it not also an attack on Christianity (most Americans are Christian). Seems to me that this is absolutely nothing to do with religion and by definition, not antisemitism. Israel seem perfectly happy to turn any criticism of their country into an attack on their religion.

It wasn't antisemitic. It was as an accusation on USA connections with Israel and police training. It was nothing to do with Jews.

Firstly conflating Israel and Jews is in itself a form of antisemitism, and secondly, it's not an accusation, it's a fact. The USA has come under persistent pressure to end their links to Israeli police training regimes.

I see all the decent common sense posters have moved over to the new board and there's nobody left to challenge the posters with more right wing views, leaving your views to fester like some sort of football forum based right wingers wet dream.

Except it's a conspiracy theory. The Israeli Police deny the claims, but the story has gained enormous traction because of the widespread anti-Semitism among the left in the UK and elsewhere.

You could not make the other board any more LW if you tried.[;)]
