On 12 March 2019 Cristiano Ronaldo became the oldest player to score a Champions League/European Cup hat-trick.
Cristiano Ronaldo was 34 years and 35 days old when he scored 3 against Atletico Madrid, beating the record which was then held by Claudio Pizarro by just 1 day (34 years and 34 days old).

Every member of the 1964 West Ham FA Cup Winning Team was English. 7 of the 11 had names beginning with B. Can you name them without googling? Also one of the others played county cricket. Who was he and for which county?

Boro failing to score in an entire Papacy. Or was it a myth?

Falkirk broke the world transfer fee record (more recently than Boro).

I think the Papacy one is almost true but not quite. We scored on the first day of the Papacy at Southampton and then didn't score again until scoring twice at Nottingham Forest a couple of days before the end of the Papacy (in August/September 1978).

It's true that we didn't score a home goal during the Papacy (and there were loads of Papacies during which we didn't score prior to 1876).

Regarding the papacy. I got married during the papacy of John Paul 1. Those of you married in the same faith will know that it is customary to be given a scroll by the priest purporting to be signed by the Pope. In reality I think they are or were commercially printed in Ireland. For what its worth( which is likely to be very little) our blessing was from John Paul 1.

Fabio Capelo's AC Milan won the league in 93/94 season scoring a meagre 36 goals in 34 games, only conceding 15. In that season 2 teams scored 35 goals and got relegated.

In the Final of the Champions League of that season, Milan beat Barca 4-0. Barca had just won the league for 4th time in a row. Barca were firm favourites as Milan had injuries and suspensions to Lentini (worlds most expensive player), Van Basten was still out and defensive duo Costacuta and Baresi.

The 7 West Ham Players beginning with B - only 4 correctly named so far. As a clue I think one might have been the son of a player who played for Boro before the War. Certainly shared the same name.
One scored the winning goal in the last minute.

Interesting answer is the Carr Brothers

4 of whom played for the Boro but there were never more than 3 on the same field in a game (no subs back then, mind)

Jackie who is probably the best known. He is still in the top 10 goal scores and appearances for the Boro and he played 1910 - 1930

George was one of the others he played for the Boro for a while and then went off and played for Leicester City. Had a pub in North Ormesby after he retired from football, if I remember correctly
