Woodgate doesn’t know his best formation

Now that he’s got players back and options he wants them all in together like assombalonga with fletcher, Morrison, McNair midfield meaning has to go to a back 4, dropping Spence because Howson is better and experienced RB and the balance is just not there. Woodgate and his team have got some thinking to do

Woodgate doesn’t know his best formation
His best spell was when he had 11 fit players who could only play in a 5 - 4-1. He fell into a solution but fortunately it worked. He is now completely overthinking it and is being exposed for his lack of ability to manage. Coulson and Spence have been the most exciting and progressive players on the pitch for us but genius Woody drops them like a burning £50 note. Our best hope is a string of injuries so he doesn’t have to think

Agree totally Howson proved he is more suitable to reading the game at the back, and we need the enterprise of spence. Assombalonga unfortunately doesn’t fit due to his lack of awareness

Think we need to go back to the wingback formation. It works and he will at least have the option of switching to 4-4-2 if we are losing.

I know it's only Luton on Saturday but I'd still play 3 CBs and Spence / Coulson.

I don't understand why he's dropped spence? His pace and energy was one of the highlights when we were on the winning run.

Think we need to go back to basics and try for clean sheets again.

"I don't understand why he's dropped spence? His pace and energy was one of the highlights when we were on the winning run."

He was poor against Birmingham, and he'd played 10 games in quick succession as a player who'd not even been close to the first team at the start of December.
He probably needed a rest.

I was surprised he didn't start yesterday, but I think the fact he came on very late might indicate there was a reason Woodgate didn't start him.

Woodgate doesn't know his best formation , that is due to the person who was giving outside help is no longer doing that.

He did then the transfer window signings caused him to tinker.

The injury to Roberts has threw everything off.
I'd stick with 343. We were doing alright and picking up points. Do that until the end of the season then work on whatever he really wants to do next preseason.

The wheels fell off with Roberts in the team. He is an expensive Harry Chapman.

How does this explain the last few weeks then when Roberts has been injured?

Woodgate lost his wheel wrench so can’t put the wheels back on.

Answer is I don’t know, and evidence suggests neither does Woody, otherwise we’d still be on the December run of form, unless of course that was a fluke, and he is as inept as a large number of fans thought.

Its pretty obvious that our run of results in December was a fluke - we have now returned to our actual level. No wins since New Years Day is a worry.

Woodgate said Spence had been ill in his post match interview from the Brentford game didn't he? It happens when you're body is exhausted. He probably needed a rest. Hopefully he's back in the next game.

Which managers do?

The best chop and change to suit the circumstances, no such thing as a best 11 anymore really.

'Woodgate doesn't know his best formation'

Hasn't this been said about all our managers at some point?
