"I put this on other site but got no response as yet."

So we don't matter, hardly inclusive or representative is it?

The agenda seems to rarely change going around and around.

I'd like someone to raise the issue of ticket prices being excessively high, some of the highest walk up prices in the division.

If you look on the agenda - one of the actions is to invite Neil Bowser to a meeting and ticket prices would be top of that agenda.
I apologise for my very late posting of the agenda.
We do hold meetings every month and anyone can make contact at any time with something they would like to bring up.
We are working on a new charity hook up with an appeal point at the Riverside.
What else - I brought up points about safe standing at Spurs in Rail Seats and then standing between seats at Fulham - in front of our disabled fans. (There were some quite shameful remarks made towards the disabled by some of our fans on the night).
But please - anytime you have something to bring to a forum meeting - just click on the link below and email it in.
Apologies again - have had builders in and then went off to London for the Brentford match. But yes I will endeavour to get the agenda out much earlier in future - or at least the minutes and then people can comment and respond.

I thought you already had a meeting with Bausor, Rob?This is after he tried to dodge the two letters the supporters club sent to him. His response if I remember was that ticket prices/sales were important to the running of a championship club and that was the end of the matter.

Yes, I had a meeting with him but inviting him to a fans forum might also be useful too.

He said a lot at our meeting - laid out all the costings and showed me the FFP rule book (quite literlly). Wages are over £20m and although commercial and shop takings are higher than most Championship clubs the £s through the turnstiles are by far the biggest income.
By FFP - Gibson is allowed to put in "only" £15m. Say that quickly and it doesn't sound too bad.
The amount of concourse take is very small, thousands rather than millions. So letting in extra people for free etc does not mean extra income necessarily - that is an extreme example.
The main hope is that they now gather a lot more data and back this up with phone calls to get a fuller picture of why people don't go to matches as well as why they do.
We need to keep pushing the argument for lower walk ups and more concessions and hopefully all the data and phone calls will back this up.
But we must understand to Gibson how can he be acting out of greed etc as he is only ever personally putting money into the club. The maximum allowed from FFP. Every penny of your ticket money goes into the pot to help the team gain promotion. He will also point out season ticket prices have been static for a large part of the Riverside era - against which VAT and all running costs have increased.
There are a lot of balancing acts always to keeping a club afloat. I think we would welcome more sophisticated pricing. Special offers for midweek games. Bundles of tickets at discounted rates etc.
But the club has that FFP balancing act to make. Player wages are falling at Boro and probably across the EFL as a whole. But can we still compete with the likes of Leeds with their 30k + crowds etc. On top prices too, remember - this gives them a big FFP advantage although they are possibly right on the edge at the moment - possibly why they didn't spend big in Jaunuary.
Would you take cheaper midweek tickets and more flexible ticketing in trade off for the end of the Chairman's drink, for instance?
I have heard that this is really costly. Just a thought.

All ST should come with one not get rid all together. Probably costs the club about a quid for that free pint. Most they will make that back from if they buy one of there own

No other club does the free drink. So, it is a great thing that we do it before and after games but I have heard from various sources that it is very costly.

I wouldn't have thought so. I imagine there is quite a big markup on the price of drinks so the club shouldn't be paying that much in comparison. At the end of the day the season ticket price is selected to incorporate that cost. Then you get people who probably don't pick them up every game.

It's telling that the club would rather give a free drink to a diminishing number of people rather than knocking off a few quid of the price of season tickets. Because free drinks are cheaper than cutting the price of the season tickets and looks good from a PR point of view. I know if you asked most fans which they'd prefer - they wouldn't be selecting a free drink over a cheaper ticket.

Depends on your definition of Costly i suppose. It cant cost them more than a quid for a pint. How many people actually take them up on the free offer and how many people then buy a 2nd pint who wouldn't have otherwise?

Pint of Lager costs £3.70 I think in the ground. No idea how much it costs the club or how they come to work it out but I get the drink because I'm entitled to it but if I had to pay the full price for it I wouldn't touch it.

I'd rather have £1 per match off the price of my season ticket than the free drink.

The Chairman's drink is a gimmick. Get rid of it, if it's a major cost burden.

"He will also point out season ticket prices have been static for a large part of the Riverside era - against which VAT and all running costs have increased."

1st season North Stand £180 inc vat £153.19 exc vat

Next season the same seat (early bird price) £420 inc vat £350 exc vat or £484 inc vat £403.33 exc vat

I can't see how it could be claimed that the price of a season ticket/card has remained static (or even fairly static).

Taking inflation into account it should be about £308 inc vat.
