Burnleys team average age is close to 30 plus...

they have been very successful in playing that style of football.

I just cannot see it working forever, Stoke did it then crashed then are in a relegation battle this year.

Sunderland went down and then down again.

Dyches done a brilliant job, but it wont work forever.

During the game he sat back looking p155ed off, after the game he looked p155ed off. My company are ahite but to my team I am honest but state you make of any job of it as you want. He looks like he is saying f33k it I cannot be XXXXXXd so whhy should you!...

My theory which may be wrong but seems a good guess is Ole has been told he is managing only till the end of the season and then they already have a manager lined up in Pochetino who will be available to manage.

I have commented all year how downbeat he has looked so that would make sense.

It was funny sat with all the plastic Mancs in the pub tonight. Their ground looked like Sunderlands with ten minutes to go.

at some point if they want to progress - they'll need to add some real flair, skill & creativity to their more British style of play..

Teamwork, running & organisation are all well & good though it's not enough to excite..

It was what happened to us when McClaren left an ageing squad a lot of them unplayable or crocked but still on lengthy contracts (Mendy being the most famous example). I don't know the nooks and crannies of Burnley's squad but ultimately if you offer lengthy contracts to professionals coming towards the end of their shelf life it will happen.

I think there's a danger of stereotyping: because its Burnley, and Dyche, we assume it must be all meat and potatoes football.

Their second goal last night gives the lie to that; not just the blistering finish, but the neat interplay beforehand.

I think Nigel Perason suffers from this assumption too; because he was a typical English Centre Half, he must have a very straightforward, boring way of playing. don't think that's true wherever he's been.

As for the OP, the bullet will work its way around for Burnley, but the same is true of at least 13 PL clubs.
