Boca Juniors and River Plate tickets

I will be in Buenos Aires in April. Boca are at home to San Lorenzo on the 12th and River play Racing club on the 15th.
I've done a bit of research online and it sounds virtually impossible to be able to get tickets without paying over $150 dollars a ticket and going with a tour agency.

Has anyone been or could shed a bit of light on how I could go about getting tickets?

I thought the thread was regarding River v Boca!!

Ä150 for just any other argentine game seems a bit steep suddenly!

Search wander tours BA, British lad who lives in Buenos Aires who sorts football tours out.

Remember, watching football in Argentina is like watching football in the 80s, be careful.

What a city Buenos Airies is thought.

Take a ferry trip to Uruguay if you can.

From past experience across Europe, you will be able to get them at local prices once over there, depending on availability of course. Go to the club shop and they will get you sorted out. Remember to take your passport with you to the shop.

I second the trip to Uruguay! I've been twice and loved it what an amazing city! I paid $270 for a river Boca ticket, you are probably about right at 120-150 for a normal game

Ditto Redlips' advice. Wander Tours were spot on in my experience.

Was told by a mate who lives there that Boca tickets can be difficult to get, the demand from their fans is far more than the stadium can hold. So the prices are always high because the demand is there.

£110 for a ticket makes the Riverside seem cheap.

What is the face value on the ticket?

Thanks for the advice

Looks like I will just have to bite the bullet and pay the $150 which is what they are going for on the Wander BA site.

I plan on getting the ferry over to Montevideo. Both Penarol and Nacional have Copa Libertadores games on whilst I'm there so hopefully those tickets are a bit cheaper.

Wander tours takes you to the game and waits for the trouble to clear and takes you home.

If you have not been before I would recommend you go with a tour company. Go to colonial Uruguay as well as Montevideo:

I canít describe how mental a Boca game is. Imagine the holgate in the 80s and multiple that by 100. with fireworks and flares being let off. As a tourist you will stick out like a sore thumb. Behind the goals people turn up an hours before the game.

Donít get drink before the game as your unlikely to make it to the loo, about 4 urinals for the whole stand. Also remember that the police are a different animal out..

Outside the ground it is mental as well. But it will be the best footballing experience you will ever have.

Another tip is to take USA dollars as your currency.

Enjoy it is amazing city.

Looked into this myself recently and reckon $150 would be fine seeing as it's probably going to be a once in a lifetime thing.

We paid about $150. It's impossible to buy them on the streets as every ticket is a season ticket and there is no away support allowed. We also used Wandr travel and it was great although the game boring. They just met some locals on the street on the way to the game and got their season tickets for us to use. Take u for a few beers in a few good bars beforehand also
