He is $hit... always was and always will be.

My 6 year old could do a better job and actually teach him a few things

For some reason decided to try and save the second with his feet, just not good enough, and donít need a panicker

Meijas killed off all the team confidence in the second minute. It was Meijas' second start in 4 years and two starts too many for me. He won't be seen in a Boro shirt ever again I suspect.

ppl who can't even spell his name (it's Mejias BTW)going beserk. He made a mistake, his first for 4 years! Redeemed himself in the 2nd half. His penalty saves enabled us to beat Man U in League Cup so he'll always be a bit of a hero to me

Before having a pop at spelling surnames, perhaps look at yourself for the word " PPL ".... I believe the correct term is " People " [rle]

If Dimi had played the first few games in 14/15 I'm sure we would have gone up instead of the play-offs, as Mejias cost us several points - and cost us again in the game Dimi was suspended for later on
Things haven't changed - he's just not good enough unfortunately

Good shot stopper. His save after it went through all those players was superb. But hes got mistakes in him. I'd rather have an ok shotstopper but is more commanding at the back. Ie dimi.
The wind caused trouble for everyone today though.

The shot he saved through the crowd wasn't as good as first thought. You can see him moving towards the ball after Eriksen hits it.

Gazzaniga's save for Wing's free kick was a much better save.

He's our No3 keeper, only gets chucked in for cup games and isn't that good. Not sure about a rotation policy for keepers, should just play the best keeper we have available.

As a third choice keeper he's a decent option, especially given his contract will be very modest.

Cant defend his mistake, but other than that he did ok, especially second half.

The mistake is asking an uncomfortable keeper play out from the back.
Howson/McNair were as much to blame for the loss as him.

A said above, he's a fine 3rd choice keeper. He's bound to be rusty playing his second game in 4 years. Rotating keepers will help the ones that don't play to shake off the rust, but you can't be surprised if they throw in the odd clanger. That pass was pretty incredible though. He literally can't have seen the Spurs player marking our player.

Was actually signed as a number 2 to Randolph, but obviously can't have been doing it in training, so Pearsy got the gig [^]

Another questionable signing, alongside the other three [:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)]

"The mistake is asking an uncomfortable keeper play out from the back."

No one asked him. It's his decision what he does. He had the opportunity to play right or long but chose the wrong option.

Two great saves in the second half though.

He likes to play the ball out quickly and in the past it is one of the things that I thought was a positive about him. (Catching crosses less so.) I think that one last night was just lack of match play and probably the experience of playing in such a big stadium after months of the odd run out in the Ressies in front of friends, families and the the odd stray dog. Made a couple of good saves in the second half and his kicking thereafter was a bit nervy but nothing too wayward. Felt for him really.

Didnít he make two wonder saves against Man City in the FA Cup at the Etihad? Didnít he also make a really great save to deny Moura in the first tie?

Didn't he give away a goal in the 2nd minute last night throwing the match plan out the window?

If we're going back didn't he cost us home and away against Leeds 14-15 season?
Didn't he cost us home against Sheff Wed 14-15?
Didn't he cost us away to Sheff Wed 13-14?

He has without doubt cost us more games than saved us games.

My patience has gone with him.

No doubt he's a smashing lad and everything, but quite frankly he simply isn't good enough...not even as a #2 or #3.

That decision last night to pass out from the back in the 3rd minute away from home to a top Premier League team was absolutely ridiculous.

I've never understood the rotation policy for keepers in the cup. Do keepers really need to be rested? I know there's the risk of injury but we've put out strongish sides in both cup games, so there was no need to rest Pears.

As for his mistake last night, he just needed to clear it upfield first time with his right foot. As soon as he decided to take that touch he put himself under pressure, but even then he could have just used his left foot to hoof it upfield.

He's had two good games ever. City and utd in the cups.

I didn't think he was good enough last time so very suprised we brought him back (skint probably). The fact Pears rapidly became No2 says it all.

Hes 30 year old and just about reached 50 appearances with various clubs in not particularly good leagues.

He may make the odd good save but his catching and decision making has always been heart in the mouth. I seriously wouldn't want him as No1 for any period of time if Pears got crocked.

Tommy Turtle 🐢 arms is a pudding.

Every time I have seen him play he makes a mistake.

When Dimi was suspended in the play off season he played against Leeds and had a stinker.
