Team for Spurs...

Woody said yesterday he will put out a team that's competitive and he feels could win the game.

That said playing Fulham on Friday isn't ideal and it's 3 games in 6 days. We really don't need extra time and Pens (do they have extra time?).

You look at the squad and its not the biggest and inexperienced in some areas. We don't appear to have much ability to rotate at in the back 5.

He's already said MejŪas and Clayton will start. We could bring in Rudy/Johnson and
Nmecha and still be strong while resting 5.

It's still gonna have to be pretty strong despite one eye on Friday.

Really looking forward to it[^]

Bu&&er Fulham on Friday!

Go for broke against Spurs,Woody!!

With our young team flying and full of confidence and self-belief, letís go all out and chase Sporting Glory!!

From the depths of despair at witnessing that anaemic performance against Leeds, the vim and vigour of of recent performances and the rapid development of our young talent means that this replay has the hallmarks of our FA Cup tussles with Everton under Rioch the Bruce!

So, come on Woody, come on the Boro, take me back to Ď88!!

Christ that was some cup tie. Thats when fans and more so clubs actually cared about the 'magic of the cup'.

That was some Everton side. I bet the 120k it said we made from the game was a fortune for us.

Also 2 subs... Old school[;)]

Record receipts...wonder if we broke or equalled them again that season? Wonder what the all time record receipts were for Ayresome...maybe Man Utd in the League Cup Semi-final?

I was ballboy at that game. Deep into extra time with Everton chasing the game the ball went out for a throw in where I was standing. As I went to throw the ball to Pat Van den hauwe I accidentally on purpose dropped the ball (I was a goalkeeper at the time). It was the first (but not the last) time someone called me a c**t!

I hope wing doesn't play, he'll be made to look very average, too slow to turn etc. Championship is about his level. I'll hope he proves me wrong if he does start though. I also believe he's a 45 min to 60 min player as he goes missing in the second half of games such as the weekend.

Wing was really good last Saturday. As he was against potential Premeier League team West Brom.

Otto, you really meant Man City in League Cup semi final.

I agree with Fatsuma that this is the match that we should prioritise, and if some players are too knakkered for Friday then rest them then. Letís go for it! UTB

Brings back memories of the league cup qf for me. We played really well that day, absolutely hammered the spurs goal looking for an equaliser. Ricketts missed half a dozen chances before putting one away late. Then mad Frank doing kick ups waiting to take his pen. Still the only shootout I've seen live.

We played them a few years later in the relegation season and were dreadful. That's the night I knew we were going down.

I hope Randolph makes the bench to put pressure on west ham . If we sell him we have to buy again & if he stays he hinders or other keepers progress cant see them getting much game time.

My apologies Otto! I forgot the Semi final in 1992, for some reason I thought it was quarter final.
Anyway, you were of course correct.

I've been told by someone who used to train some of the young players that Ben Liddle has been told he's going to start tonight. I don't know if it's actually true but would be amazing for him if it is. I think there'll be an eye to Friday so there might be a couple of young lads getting a chance.
