are we at a point where warnock is now the best option....

i was dead against him being chosen at the time of Aitor and Pulis, thinking we had the better of the options then (although i knew very little of Aitor tbf)...

Have we slipped so low now that Warnock looks a good choice for us...

Its not necessarily that i never thought he could do the job, i just didnt like his personality...

On Aitorís sacking, he was the man we needed, and still do. Gibson wont go after a manager in another job though. He is too principled for his own good.

The thing is though he will need money to bring players in. And even if we have any, January is never a good window

He knows all about Flint, Tomlin & Joe Bennett, so there's 3 he could sweet talk into the club [;)]

No No and no again for all of those. Not that it would ever happen

Wasn't Monk at Leeds when he hired him?

Warnock isn't the hero we deserve, but he's the hero we need right now. He's expressed interest in wanting to work here.

By the sounds of it he won't do anything until after Christmas, we need him now so he can look at the squad and see what he can do in the window to steady the ship.

All of this assumes Gibson isn't just staring into his magic mirror asking "who is the fairest chairman of them all?"

I'll stick my neck out and say he's the most successful manager in english second tier history.

I'm not certain that's true, but I can't think of anyone else with as many promotions.

I therefore wouldn't think of his appointment as "sinking low", nor would I be presumptuous enough to question whether he could do the job.

However, following the Pulis era, I'm not convinced he's what the fans want.

Do we want the "win at all cost" mentality at the expense of entertainment? We have to make up our minds.

I lean heavily towards results over entertainment, but its XXXXXX miserable when you don't get either.

I wanted him when we appointed Monk The Spiv.

He's good at getting teams promoted, not so good at saving them from relegation, I suspect.

See Rotherham for details.

Foggy, the problem with the teams he gets promoted is that they rarely invest enough to stay up.

He is a good tactical manager. He is just what we need right now. I wanted him in 2017. Gibson will not target managers employed though it seems.

Agree with that foggy, I posted on here before we got Monk that Warnock was the one we should get

Nkithings guaranteed in life but our fortunes woukd have been a lot better if we had chosen Warnock over Monk

Yep, there is no one we could appoint who would guarantee success.

I'd estimate that 74-80% of managerial appointments are failures anyway. The good ones just stay in their jobs much longer.

We could sack him the day after we got promoted?

TBF, he's had some bad luck too. He was right to feel cheated by West Ham and Tevez, and who can say what difference the lad from Nantes would have made at Cardiff?
