Minutes of the meeting held on Monday - I can add some more details.
The point raised re Family Zone concourse half time queues was raised and yesterday NortonExile was in touch and I have now hooked him up with Supporter Services to look into it.

1hr and 40 mins of your life wasted there, makes you wonder why the people bother to attend when next to nothing gets done although it does highlight that Bauser is that far removed from the fans that he can't be XXXXXXd answering a letter from July so another one has to be sent.

I passed on that at QPR they sit in front of the revolving hoardings in the corners of the ground. At Aston Villa their chairs are infront of the adverts.
But at other clubs the ball boys/girls are sat behind. Some hardly seem to have any at all.
Oh and the info I was feeding from the message board about Boro being in the bottom three of the division for playing time on the pitch seems to be from last season. So, will it have changed?
There were no promises of what might happen - I suppose it is for us to watch to see how much of a problem it is going forward.
We have opted for Multi-ball - in part this is supposed to mitigate for any problems such as this. Something to watch out for at games.
The ball boys and girls are now provided by local sports clubs.

I'd say the lack of numbers and the limited number of times they actually move for the ball is a bigger issue than where they're sat.

"RN raised the subject of “ball persons activity” as a current survey shows that Boro are 3rd bottom of the league of time the ball is in play. YF advised this was now part of the match day experience and a discussion was held as to whether “ball persons” should sit behind or in front of the advertising boards."

Being a ball boy/girl is part of the match day experience??

Does that mean they have to pay to do it along the lines of paying to be a Mascot?

Rob...…..you are joking right, when you say "we've opted for multiball" [:D]

I'd be interested to know how 'fast' our ball-persons would be if we hadn't

I'm convinced some of our ball persons are laid down behind the hoardings, playing on their phones, with NO interest in what's going on.

When you wrote to Sir Bauser in July, did you include an SAE, with a 1st class stamp on it ?

The clubs attitude towards it's fans, sorry customers, is a disgrace, they are treat like sh!t

FAO Rob and fans forum members

Ref Ticketing - what about buy one ticket can another half price for another home game - this encourages re attendance. It would make 2 adult tickets typically £45 or £22.50 per ticket. Advertise the offer in different media that non season ticket holders would see/hear.

Ref : Ball persons - there are not enough of them - it should be free for them and they should get a free packed lunch provided, free memomento of the day. Its a marketing opportunity as well as a functional need.

Ref Food banks - advertise on the website and MFC social media and on the email that is sent out called match day pack. The food bank collection is a generous offer by MFC, I don't mind them blowing their trumpet more that they are indirectly helping the local Teesside community. Possibly they could recycle left over food with local charities.

I hope that helps.

Why does it matter if they sit in front of or behind the boards? Just hop over it and run and grab the ball, it really isn’t hard.

Comments re YF following up on family zone issues. Last 3 home matches I have seen her in that area so would have thought she already could see there is an issue.

People might argue not necessary but we make the meal part of the day, we now have to go down 10mins before half time to beat queue otherwise as people previously mentioned 15 mins ht is not enough and end up missing start of second half,

As someone who takes two young children I would like to raise the issues on toilets. I would like a male member of MFC staff to use toilets at half time near block 32. Bins overflowing, no hot water, No soap, toilet doors don’t lock.

Then last but not least my routine of a pint at the game, When I was in south stand was about bearable since I moved to family zone it is now a challenge to drink a pint of lager.

Please ask YF to sample and let me know if she thinks it’s a good deal.

I think overall no matter what is served up I will still attend as it has become a way of life for me and my family. I think someone with more sense would probably think twice.

Definitely no future planning club wise or team wise that's been shown. Bausor can't be ar$ed to even reply to a simple letter. Ferguson doesn't even chase that up with him even though she's heard about it 3 or 4 times since it was sent. Comical but mainly sad as I appreciate Rob and co believing in this talking shop. And I'd quite fancy being anonymous at many of the meetings I attend at work, but ...
- when I'm representing a group of people
- what I say may affect other groups of people
- the meeting is formally minuted

... I would expect to be named, and so should he, or any rep at the meeting.

Edited to address Gene's point - yes, they do, but as above, what about other groups

Why name any attendee then ?

What difference does it make if he remains anonymous or not? The people he represents know he is and have a way of contacting him to express their views. The minutes are recorded so people know what he has said. The members attending the fans forum know who he is.

He's not representing your views. You can pass your views via Rob if there is something you wish to say so why does it really matter?

It doesn't matter whether he's reflecting my views or not. He's interacting with the club and potentially influencing the clubs views (probably not though!) and as such it should be transparent who all attendees are and who they represent.

Sadly that doesn't seem to happen and it's equally grievous that a number of forum members represent no one but themselves and the only opinion they seem to offer is their own.

Some groups which are represented seem to have no social media presence or ways of obtaining the views of the people they represent or just generally being visible to the rest of us.

End of 0800 numbers for ticket office and general office. That has saved a lot of money and angst.
Wholesale mark down on pricing for Travel Club buses.
Ticket Office sales of away tickets shifted from morning to evening.
Working with Ageing Better to give free online help accessing Boro services - been ongoing for over year at Riverside and sites across Teesside.
Setting up Food Banks.
Several of the gains - mostly stemming from ideas hatched on this forum.
Also correcting tripping hazard on steps in two corners of ground - been there over 20 years but identified by supporters on this site and addressed through consultation on Forum.
Small things and bigger things.
But having been involved in supporter groups one way or another since late 80s we have never had this opportunity for monthly meetings with the club. And never had people from ticket office, catering, stewarding, Cleveland Police address fans and listen to concerns.
We also managed to get all the local MPs to back safe standing. That has not happened in any other area of the country to my knowledge.
But I should stress never before have we been able to discuss issues so closely with people in the club.

I have now made contact with Neil Bausor and spent 90 minutes in his company this afternoon. I hope to get an official letter to minute also but was party to an in depth breakdown on the club budget, ticketing, costs and the massive challenges to meeting Financial Fair Play.
I need to think about this properly before giving a fuller account of the meeting but just to say three things - firstly ticketing is by far the most important element to budget at Championship level, a massive contrast to Premier. Therefore any changes have to be very carefully assessed. I understand that and was shown the depth of analysis now available through stats and also phone calls to ticket and lapsing ticket holders.
Secondly - there will be a massive shortfall this season - how do you plug that other than selling players and the chairman plugging the black hole - but only as much as he is allowed to.
Thirdly - I was given a comparison to a couple of other clubs in the league charging lesser amounts than us through the turnstiles - and how we would have to increase our match crowd by thousands, double in one case we looked at to stand still.

I put across and will continue to do so how much it would mean to us all having even one Huddersfield Town like offer - where it was £10/£5 concessions to get in the away end.
I take the point made they still have Parachute payments.

But even so I will continue to argue for extension of teenage and childrens concessions.
Also - special offer games.
Thirdly - more sophisticated ticketing prices allowing cheaper levels.

It was enlightening to hear of the scale of the challenges faced by Boro and also the new climate that could well the Championship. I think they have been well and truly screwed over by the 5 year SKY deal negotiated with red button etc and surely there will be more casualties than Bolton and of course Bury unless drastic changes come into place club by club.
Anyway, we should get a proper reply and we are via the forum part of the discussion which happens very regularly now at the club - analysing ticketing and commercial etc.

Yes and no.. If you want to compete in the Premier you have absolutely no choice but to compete in terms of transfer fees and wages at that level. But if you don't survive for two seasons you pay a savage price.
We have a wage bill reported in the Gazette today at £22. Stoke could well be double that - going to be problems there in future.

Commercially we do really well both compared to the past at Boro and other EFL clubs. We get a good return for shirt sponsorship - I believe most clubs try to get £750k - £1m a season in Championship.
Adverts and partners and conference facility at Riverside etc all works really well.
Shop sales kick well above our size.
Remember for FFP - it is all about income from tickets and other commercial activities and we compare very favourably for our size with other Championship outfits yet still there are significant challenges in meeting the demands of Financial Fair Play. Especially because we are still carrying a £22m wage bill and total costs per year of everything are over £30m.
It looks as if wages are going to do down, down across the EFL and that big transfers will be rare. Even for clubs chasing promotion - they have problems coming under the FFP limit. If Leeds keep getting 35 000 paying top dollar then they are in a different ball game but they too need to sustain that. It is a big pressure as their costs are way high.
