"Looking better ? not hard to achieve after what he has been serving up.
Let's hope he gets a Hat Trick maybe we could get £1million of our fourteen back.

I suspect yes

We've had him long enough to know he'll do this from time to time. He won't maintain it, he hits the odd goalscoring patch for a few weeks the goes back to being sh*t for a couple of months before his next batch of goals.

He did well today and was very unlucky not to get the hat trick. Just by the post , keeper was beaten.
He pressed well too.
Credit where it's due.

I've not seen him play many full games so I'm not going to say he's the messiah but I've never understood the criticism the guy gets given the goals he gets for us. Especially when you consider the spuds he's playing with.

the problem with him emo is that for someone whos sole attribute is being a goal scorer he misses an embarrassment of chances, particularly 1 on 1 situations

the fact hes our record signing perhaps unfairly makes the situation worse

im not a fan of his but id like nothing better than to be proved wrong, i have a bet on with a family member that i go to the match with that he wont score 20 goals or more this season to the tune of around £100, i hope i lose but i cant see it

Thought he was good today. Good to see a bit of confidence back in his boots! Maybe itís just me, but I thought he looked a bit leaner today.
Loved the finish for his second

That's fair enough Paul. Like I said I don't watch him for 90 mins at a time. The modern game demands more from a striker and I would agree he doesn't have some of those attributes.

I should also admit that I'm possibly a bit biased. I played football at a good level as a younger lad. I'm a short @rse and played as a striker. Scoring goals is very very fcking difficult.

I know my view is likely unfashionable in the modern game his job is to score goals whether that's with his his feet or his chin. They all count.

Getting the chances is an really important part of the game for a striker. You have to get in the positions to create the chances.

are you michael owen [8D]

he is very frustrating, he gets into positions but his execution has been poor

id of kept hugill and tried to play to his strengths, he was winning a lot of balls and holding it up to bring others in, him and traore would of worked well perhaps

hopefully britt pushes on from todays brace

Britt is a "confidence player" and hopefully his finishing will improve in next few games. Pulis certainly didn't do his confidence any good, and Woodgate will hopefully bring the best out of him.

for all pullis's detractors and theres many, how do you explain his success with traore

He needs pressure taking off him for sure, the rest of the team should chip in with goals for a start.

He is a truly terrible footballer at this level. No link up play, terrible touch, no hold up play and absolutely no composure.

Couple of good finishes yesterday but it won't ever change my opinion on him.

If you put a good striker in that team we'd be in a much better situation. He for me is the main problem

Britt isn't the problem
It's the other strikers, if you can call them that
Fletcher and Gestede , both need to go and be replaced with goalscorers.

I'm hoping it gives him confidence but we said that after his performance at Bristol City and he never kicked on.

I will say though, in defence of Britt we need others to start scoring to take the pressure off of him.

"pulis did openly criticise him, with merit i thought"

I dont think anyone is arguing that Pulis' criticism of his was particularly unfair. What people question was the doing it in public. I'd think most players would react negatively to that and can't have done his confidence any good.

Of course you can argue that Woodgate's approach hasn't made any difference up to this point, but I think most managers tend to keep criticism of individual players to the dressing room for good reason.

I have bee critical of him for the past couple of months, but he played well yesterday and hope it continues.we xan get out of trouble if he can keep it up.
