Edited On: 08/11/2019 13:51GE 2019 - some people getting desparate

Campaign only just begun the level of lying and smears is already reaching new heights..

Tories will do what they always do and known liar Johnson continues to lie - so no surprise there. At least they barely try and hide out or pretend they are virteous (see recent doctored interview they put out about Kier Starmer)

But their centrist partners in crime - the Lib Dems and Greens have been fully recruited in their 'remain alliance' presumably everyone concerned that the Labour vote like in 2017 will harden and increase as campaign continues

Pretty shameless stuff with the 'Greens' partnering fracking supporting, carbon neutral by 2045 Lib 'Dems' to oust Labour (aiming for same carbon neutral target as supposed 'Green' party) in key marginals (eg Stroud) to let the Conservatives in - agenda is not even subtle

Election literature repeatedly from Lib 'Dems' showing outright lies quoting polls that do not exist or pretending the Euro elections are a guide to what is going to happen in GE (never have been and never will esp most recent Euros)

'Funny tinge' Angela Smith claiming Altrincham was a 'two-horse' race between her and Cons even though Lib Dems almost lost their deposit in the last election being another great example

Obviously our media esp 'neutral' BBC keep pushing the agenda R4 Today yesterday abandoned even the pretence of neutrality giving ex-Labour centrist and now employed by the Tories Ian Austin wall to wall coverage to stunningly say... he was going to vote Tory

We have another month of this - I would advise everyone ignores print media and BBC for your own health..

...and you could add, most of what is said on this board...

Just vote for whomever you believe will deliver on the policies that are closest to what YOU want over the next term of government.

I'm a member of a few green groups on fb, as I nearly went that way pre-corbyn and then are generally filled with people fuming that Greens are supporting LD's.

GE 2019 - some people getting desparate
That's true free_pint but its predictable

The Greens like a lot of the environmental agenda are corporate centrists designed to split/frustrate leftist agenda

It is obvious to anyone with a brain that the 'Green'/Lib Dem strategy here is to split Labour vote and will have the effect of helping the Tories making a nonsense of the supposed aim of stopping Brexit

'Greens' and Lib Dems have always been corporate supported with the aim of helping the Tories no surprise what has happened but the agenda has never been so transparent as it is now

The Greens have always put forward a left wing manifesto, far more so than Labour. 2017 was the closest they've been in years. Looking forward to their the four manifestos (Green, Labour, Lib Dem, Tory) to get a real view of what each party is standing for. I doubt the Greens and Lib Dems will be very close. I only seem to get a chance to vote Green every other election without the pact.

GE 2019 - some people getting desparate
I wouldn't have viewed the Greens as remotely centrist before, as the post above says previously they were more left than Labour, hence I was close to joining them.

They pushed for things like Basic Income, which I've always been a massive fan of. However, since Brexit the policies seem to have changed quite some way. Which is a massive shame.

GE 2019 - some people getting desparate
The return of Labour to socialism has changed things..

Very transparent the 'remain alliance' will cost Labour seats and allow some Brexiteer conservatives to stay in parliament yet it is still happening - no wonder genuine supporters of the parties involved are left scratching their heads

From an environmental point of view the Greens are right to put Remaining in the EU rather than becoming wed to Trump as their absolute key policy.
