I'd love to vote, however I wont be in the country until 15th and can't submit a postal vote (long logistical story).

Don't waste what people have died to secure the right to do.

Would it be so unusual if they didn't?

Statistically about 1 in 3 of the population will not vote.

Thatís why any political group claiming they have Ďwoní in this country is such a joke.

The best anybody does is get the most votes or MPs within the system.

Why is it so unusual?

I don't pretend to understand the first thing about Brexit, nor do I care about any of the lying ballockes that these guys speak, nor do I care about the feckin arguments grown men have over other men.

It's like on here for instance, who cares about politics? They will just do what they want, but some people on here love to fill the board up with so much shyte and argue who's right and wrong.

The end

Probably not. Voted Labour last time to help get rid of Wharton. All as bad as each other whoever gets in nothing will change round here.

"Don't waste what people have died to secure the right to do".

Agree with the above. Freedom and democracy are undervalued in this country in my opinion.

I sometimes wonder what those who fought for would think if the outcome of a national democratic vote wasn't implemented.

Depends what I'm doing. I have not voted before due to working away most of the time.

I'm not that committed to bother about proxy votes etc. I know I can still vote even when away but I tend to think 'what difference does my one vote make?'. I suppose if a few thousand think like that then that's the issue.

That said I'm very much one who turns the radio or TV off as soon as brexit comes on. So I am far from an expert in all things politics. I can confidently say I don't really know what I'd be voting for[rle]

Also let's be honest I doubt a country has ever had less faith in any of the major candidates. Its almost a case of not really wanting any of them to lead this country[V]

So I probably won't vote as I'm confident I'll be working away.

I wont.

People did not die for a corrupt government to do as they please.
As Mark Twain said, if voting made a difference they wouldn't let us do it.

I get that 1finny, but in reality are some people being conned, or are some people actually as one with their leaders.

I will vote tactically for the policies I want for the country. Brexit will not be an issue for me this election. Anyone who chooses to spoil their ballot paper or simply not vote has no right to moan about any outcome whatsoever imho.

As for being conned, is voting for a leader to run the country and being led up the garden path any different to renewing a season card at the Boro right now [sad]

I canít decide who to vote for. I know you donít vote for leaders but the two potential prime minister both seem disastrous to me.

Iíll just vote for whom ever of my local MPs impresses me.

'I couldn't give 2 actual fcuks so I can't moan about feck all, but I don't care.'

I have always taken it seriously but after weighing it all up, 'none of the above' is always an option.

I like the analogy Col - chasing the dream.

Suppose people could argue they are at Ďoneí with their leader/party. Itís just hard to trust any of them to deliver what they say.

I'll vote 100%, If you are sick of whats going on then vote for change, that's what I'll be doing.

This Labour party is different and it's certainly nothing like what we have had before, it's partly why I will be voting labour this year, oh and to get rid of the awful hard right Simon Clarke.

Agreed 1finny, I donít see many politicians around that you can trust, I see liars, facistís, marxists, cheats and most treating the ordinary members of society with disdain. Nobody seems to care about the union, thieir positions of power and wealth are far more important than the looming break up of the union.

I totally understand why people no longer care. Perhaps the time has come to turn off the light on the way out and donít look back.

People are jaded with politicians, the political process and the North South divide (which is wider than ever).

I think it's time for a system that makes politicians more accountable.

Proportional Representation??

TLJ - don't know what your circumstances are but I will be out of the UK until after the election. I have arranged a proxy vote (form online but you have to sign it and post it back). Your proxy (as far as I can see) can also have a postal vote, so can be anywhere in the UK.

The 'right to do', but also to exercise the right not to do if deemed appropriate.
