The funny one with me was after nearly 20 years of driving I didn't know the nozzle on the fuel gauge shows what side the fuel cap is on. I only found this out last year after years of hire car 'issues' pulling up to pumps[;)]

Only found out this last week, when a Naval Warship is coming into another countries Port, all the sailors man the deck....this is / was to show that there where no sailors `below decks` manning the guns & therefore a potential threat, but a friendly visit.

I just thought it was all part of the `pomp & ceremony`.....

I can confirm this does not happen, at least anymore. Only for a special visit (e.g, some ceremonial hoohah for instance)
