Ticket Office Manager Walks

I heard at the match on Saturday that the new ticket office manager has left his role without another job to go to. He had become frustrated with the powers that be (Gibson & Bauser) unwilling to try anything new regarding ticket prices. I spoke to him at the meet the coaches night at the start of the season and he told me the matchday prices were only set for the first 3 home games. He then stated once he had the data from them he would try something different with the prices to see how it affects the attendance. Iím a long time season ticket holder of 30 years so it doesnít effect me but I told him the club needs to do more especially with the kids prices to fill the empty seats. Itís really disappointing to hear that Steve Gibson was not prepared to try anything to get more people in the stadium and thinks if your not a season ticket holder your not important to the club.

Obviously never heard of the phrase....

Yes Steve, no Steve, three bags full Steve.

On another note, Bauser has not complied with MFC fans charter, by not replying to the MSF letter regarding reciprocal ticket pricing

I expect they will offer the job to someone local. The media department will probably be busy writing the new persons powerpoint presentation as we speak [:D]

There has to be deals to tap into the locals who work offshore/abroad etc. People who have the money to buy but wonít buy season tickets as they miss half the games.

Kids for a fiver everywhere in the ground with a full paying adult

Return of the pride card etc

By the end of this season we'll have crowds of sub 10k I'm sure. That's the trouble with Gibson he is so Stubborn he gives new people jobs to allow new ideas into the club then when they express these ideas he disagrees with them unreal.

Kid offers don't work ffs. A kid has to be taken to the game but the adult won't pay 30 quid.

some would if it was 5 quid for a kid, 35 in total ,rather than the 47 without the booking fee

It is about a fiver (£5.44) for U18's if they have a season card.

not relevant to someone who cant or doesnt want to go to every game

I always thought a descending scale price could work, so you start at full walk up price, then if you go to more games the price starts to drop until a set price. Then once youíve missed so many games it resets to full price again.

That way season card holders still have the cheapest prices and none season card holders are incentivised to attend more regular and keep going to keep their lower rate.

Expect Phil stamp to get the job next week, he has all the attributes required for the role (born within 5 miles of park end, 50+ appearances)

Sorry to hear this I found him really helpful when I had issues with ticketing. He was even messaging me from the British Open while he was away. Good guy. Last message I had last week, answered my query in no time at all. First class in my opinion.
Another minus point for the club and Gibson.

Wasnít the Boro Pride thing successful? Why did they stop it?

Iíve always thought that those working away should be catered for. I know a lot of lads who work away or offshore and still have season tickets. My brother in law has only made one home game this season due to his rota, the lucky sod!

A great scheme would be you pay 50% and can activate it in advance for the 11 or 12 games you can attend. Can understand the club wouldnít want everyone doing that so maybe youíd need to demonstrate that you work away/offshore.

MFC are not very forward thinking as a club.

Working away certainly doesn't make having a season ticket cost effective. I have had a season ticket for 30+ years, but 4 years ago my role changed at work and I now spend a lot of time away in Aberdeen. Have kept my season ticket on, but I reckon on average I have missed between 8 an 10 homes games each of the last 4 seasons. I miss this coming Saturdays game due to being away with work, and that will be the 4th missed home game so far this season. I pay for the season ticket more out of habit than anything else, I kind of treat it as an inevitable bill like council tax.

Sad that heís had to leave. But Iím not surprised. Talked to him (Iím assuming itís the same person) after a muck up with my Brentford away tickets a few years ago. He was really hand on and got it all sorted. Good guy in my opinion. If heís unhappy with the product heís selling then itís a really principled stance to walk. I wouldnít Iíd keep taking the pay check

Except that fans are paying a lot more than that to go to away games and dont have the courage of their convictions to not go.

He was in role last season as I spoke to him on several occasions.

Is it more a case of the new ticketing system that he introduced this season, isn't currently fit for purpose?

He wanted to make changes like 18-21 price tickets in all areas. As people in the know have said the people above wouldnt listen to him. We have a stadium half full how can people like Barnsy stick up for the club on this ?

In what way am I sticking up for the club?

I'm simply offering an insight.

If the 'bosses' are refusing his idea of cheaper tickets I can't see how this would be a reason for him to give up a paid position.

After all I don't suppose his salary is based upon numbers of tickets sold.

The new system, that he introduced, is not working.
