Brother in Law wants a new tablet.

Any suggestions appreciated.

But an anazon fire 10 inch, add google playstore and services by watching you tube. Dead easy.
Then you have a great tablet for about 100 pounds.

The iPad Mini is considerably smaller than 10inches at 7.9inches.

However any other model of iPad is approx 10inches other than the larger Pro.

What tablet has he currently got?

It's only 7" and he got it free from a mobile phone company, I think unbranded from Orange as it was about 10 year ago.

You haven't quoted a price, but a Microsoft Surface Go. Its a full blown tablet and Windows 10 and can be docked and connected to a screen, mouse and keyboard. It can replace old PC's etc, but still be familiar and easy to use.

I have both android and Apple devices and Ive used most different types at work. There is simply no better tablet than an iPad. You get what you pay for and I think the 10 iPad is still great value for money.
The iPad mini is pretty pointless to be honest as its not much bigger than the average phone these days and too small.

Surface go is a good call. What is it needed for?

If it's just for YouTube Netflix etc the Huawei media's M5 is excellent.

Samsung galaxy tab S5E is a good all rounder and the S6 is good if he wants a "laptop rpelacement" that runs android rather than the surface go.

Another thing I just thought of too, is MS just announced the new Surface Neo which is due for launch next year.

In which case, an Amazon Fire tablet is fine, if a bit of a privacy stealer.

Deffo go for a Huawei. You don't need much in processing grunt for web browsing or watching films so go for teh cheaper models. The big advantage of these over the iPads is the SD slots for extra storage take your whole music or film collection with you in your wallet/purse.
