Stonehenge Stargazing

A new website lets you look at the sky above Stonhenge - so you can see the sunrise and track the moon and stars journey above the stone circle, any time day or night.
Quite addictive, I think.

It's strangely mesmerising. Could we have one up Roseberry Topping?

Stonehenge Stargazing
Nice one [^]

Shame that Stonehenge itself has now been ruined as somewhere to go.

We stopped by on the way back from a trip to the west country and could not believe they wanted over £50 per family.

There is a visitor centre about a mile away that you have to go to and they bus you in for a closer look. The place was full of foreign tourists. No thanks. [V]

Stonehenge Stargazing
Is a massive point of controversy isnt it? Stonehenge used to be at the intersection of two roads with a concrete bunker visitor centre. Really accessible but as a world heritage site quite shocking.
Now one road has been re-routed and plan to tunnel A330 happening soon. Stonehenge now put back into its prehistoric landscape and an "experience" but I suppose for better and for worse. You cannot rock up in a bus/car queue up to walk around the fenced off stones anymore. And then nip over to Silbury Hill/Avebury. On the other hand it is one of the world's great monuments is it not worthy of a half day visit on itself?
