Between the 19/10 and 31/10 there will either be a letter to the Eu requesting an extension or someone will go to prison or a new PM appointed who will request an extension.

Which is a pretty big deal.

The Supreme Court and the Outer Court Of Scotland have made it clear that Parliament is Sovereign and Parliament will not accept No Deal, therefore the Govt is compelled to request an extension. If the PM doesnít he is in contempt of court and will go to prison or be sacked by the Queen. It should be the PM who requests an extension but it doesnít have to be. Senior civil servants will obey the law.

Agreed Lefty. The government is boxed in and there is no legal way out of it. If they choose to act unlawfully then the court will be asked to step in (and will do so).

For all the endless posts and constant talk about Brexit.
Iím still yet to see one thing positive about leaving the EU.
And you really have to be a bit simple to think crashing out with no deal is a remotely good thing.

I have followed this with more than a close interest.

It pains me, but it is happening.
And it will be a disaster.

As have I and I know the very thread you refer to. It did not predict the Been Act or the two Scottish cases which directly address the very outcome you are concerned about. There is no lawful way of stopping the extension request and any unlawful behaviour will be dealt with by the courts. I understand the concern but it's misplaced.

wouldn't surprise me if a deal to refuse had already been agreed with someone

"Just like the Millenium bug..."

Companies invested to avoid the risk, it was real, and without action would have been fairly catastrophic. I know, I was consulting to Fortune 100s to avoid the risk it posed.

Now we can also mitigate the risk of brexit....by revoking article 50, and letting the adults back in the room.

Lefty Posted on 09/10/2019 02:14

Prorogation Again....
What could happen is Boris puts Mayís Deal back to Parliament in the new session and this time it is accepted. Itís still very tight on the numbers. It would easily pass if it was put to a confirmatory referendum of course.

Otherwise there is just no chance of an extension request not being made to the EU. Any further prorogation has already been ruled out by the Supreme Court.

Which leaves one of the EU 27 refusing the extension. Hungary have just ruled it out. France wonít. It is not in any countries interest, as irritated with us as they are, to force any country out against its will.

We will get an extension until the final day the next MFF framework needs to be agreed, which is another 9 months.

Having read some of the political piggy twitter fellas posts, nah, Iíll stick with the integrated collection of experts across all the aspects of Brexit who really have predicted everything correctly since May was elected, other than her call for a snap election.

If the EU can help facilitate an extension they know they will be closer to the ultimate goal of preventing the UK leaving, therefore it is nailed on that all 27 will have been told if anyone vetos the extension they will be in line to pick up the lions share of the UKs membership fee after it exits. Itís an obvious play for the EU.

"Because we were all warned about it and what the effects of it would be if we did not prepare for it-"

actually it was averted by hard work in identifying every piece of code that used two didgets to process the yy and were changed to 4 yyyy.

hard work and diligence without a bunch of over paid dillitants trying to sabotage it.

that a how the millennium bug was fixed.

True. I did come across fears of organised crime in the last 10 years that have evolved from some of the "Troubles" makers, but at least I, and other people in Northern Ireland, do no worry about being blown to bits whilst going about normal life there. Socially, most of the people are more 'grown up' than previous times, although tribalism is still there.
