Johnson rules out Farage pact

[:D]
Just wait....
‘I’m forced into this pact by Jeremy Corbyn and those who want to surrender to the EU. I’m determined to fulfil the will of the people and leave without a deal. This is the best way of ensuring that’

Surely you can trust every word that he says.

Can't you??

A pact will be tough with dominic cummings and farage. There is a lot of bad blood there. Also with arron banks still floating around the brexit company won't help either.

Farage is right regarding the Tories best chance, but it would be politically suicidal for them. Farage would then hold Johnson to ransom on all sorts of things moving forward

If Farage believes a single word that comes out of Johnson's mouth he's an even bigger tw@ than I'd given him credit for.

He’s only saying it to convince labour about going for a GE, as labour know they would get a coalition easier. But....if a GE is confirmed, and then “oh look, brexit/ Farage aren’t standing in Tory seats at risk, what a coincidence”.

Say you won’t have a coalition
Brexit delays to jan
Farage doesn’t fight Tories for seats, and vice versa
Have a GE
Tory/Brexit coalition or Tories in lots of seats
Overturn no-deal law
No deal on 31 jan
UK implodes

Finny, I've admired your posts for a long time. I also get the feeling we may know each other. But I'll tell you what, fella, that is probably the finest nail on head post I've ever read on here. Mrs Buxton agrees :) [^]

Imagine Boris and Farage in power with a working majority as leaders of a dream ticket Tory - Brexit coalition?

It would be like a Stephen King novel.

Anyone actually think there'll be an election before 2020?

My guess is that Johnson will be booted out some time in the last week of October. At which point a Corbyn government will be installed and they'll request an extension to Article 50. Or perhaps even revoke Article 50 - though that's the LibDems position.

The whole point of that last couple of weeks charade was to force Johnson into failing to deliver Brexit in an effort to damage his poll ratings. But he's not daft - there's no way he'd request an extension.

But to arrange a coalition Mr Corbyn will probably have to do a deal with the SNP. And that is a huge vote loser in England and Wales.

But it does have the advantage of crippling the LibDems - Swinson would no longer be a United Kingdom MP following Scottish independence.

So Mr Corbyn is going to be faced with a terrible decision. Go for an election and take the risk of no majority. Or go for PM and perhaps never be elected again.

It's going to be a tough time for all the major politicians over the next couple of months.

Forget January. Any EU extension will be for two years. We’ll then have another referendum which will put an end to this charade.

I tell you what, no matter, remain, or leave, they're some very well educated posters on flyme, who put across good sensible, well researched valid points, it's a shame at times it gets a bit heated with name calling & insults

I think the EU would prefer to give the UK an extension rather than any text changes to the WA. That boxes Boris in but this mornings news that Arlene Foster might be ready to relax her red line might be worrying for the remain side (if true). Tactical moves on both sides seem to be ramping up, its going to be an interesting few weeks.

Will Boris be pulling the membership of the party from the 3 councillors at Hartlepool who got into bed with the Brexit Party last?
