The EU hasn't taken an opinion on this. The French Courts have upheld French law however, which considers it to be the responsibility of the employer.

I thought the right wing press told us all that we're under the control of Europe and we have no say.

They might yet appeal to the ECJ.

Additionally if that is a typical standard of French justice then for me it (and other factors) casts a shadow over the Boycott case

I'm wondering how many people read all the way through the article.

"The company challenged a decision by the state health insurance provider to regard the death as a workplace accident.

The provider defended its position by insisting that sexual activity was normal, "like taking a shower or a meal".

In its ruling, the Paris appeals court upheld this view.

An employee on a business trip is entitled to social protection "over the whole time of his mission" and regardless of the circumstances, it said."

That, to me, seems fair - based upon French law. And I don't know how wrong the law is, I've worked away many times, sometimes in areas which aren't the best in terms of sanitation, roads, etc. If something had happened to me when I was there, it would seem right that the business would be responsible as I wouldn't have been in that position if I wasn't away working.

If it wasn't for the moral outrage, I'm sure this wouldn't even be a news story.

"I have decided to become a remainer"

Considering there were very good reasons to come out, it is probably only the really gullible who would want to stay in.

Has the EU changed?
Well Nigel and his clan will now rule the roost from the UKs point of view.
Our subs to the EU are certanly going to multiply.
All the important EU jobs have been shared between the French and Germans and just wait until the European Army and European State moves start.
Only a sucker would be persuaded by the latest propaganda. [:D]
