I see the snake has come out to play games again.

Isn't it time he either resigned as Deputy Leader or put in a leadership challenge.

Strange time to comment. I have some sympathy with his thoughts, but now is not the time. Surely there is an option to challenge the deputy leader...I remember a titanic battle when Tony Benn challenged Denis Healey early 80s.

Whatís the problem?
He has a personal view as does JC and others

In fact it seems a bit daft to me for a ĎPartyí to take a view. They are humans like the rest of us.

I prefer Watsonís stance that a referendum first is the right approach
But, Prefer JCís stance that the party will not take a view (if I have understood that right).
Each MP can then do what they want

Interesting finny. I did think recently that Labour should maybe have just left the referendum to the Tories as it was for their benefit after all....not sure how that would have worked in reality though.

Corbyn just stated that this is not the labour position - as a brexiteer I would be afraid if these bods in the opposition could get themselves on the same page. As it is they are an absolute shambles and donít appear to have a coherent brexit policy.

What bit of we'll give the people a vote don't you understand?

Until they know what deal would be on offer how do you expect them to give an opinion on whether to stay or leave?

Far better than what we currently have.

"As it is they are an absolute shambles and donít appear to have a coherent brexit policy."

It's almost like some in the Labour party are deliberately trying to muddy the waters and damage the party's reputation isn't it... [?][;)]

He needs gagging as is the reason labour is losing votes to the Brexit party and Conservities in leave area's it's alright for him in Brighton looking at losses to the lib Dems which are alot smaller than the potential heartland's loss

As someone who has stopped voting labour for the time being, I would far sooner trust him than Corbyn. He is right what he says on brexit. I say that as a leaver as well.

That will sit well with the millions of Labour voters who put a cross in the Leave box back in 2016

There won't be an election. The polling is terrible.

But MP's may try and rig up a referendum. They've certainly got the numbers. So Watson is probably right.

And that makes an election even less likely.

I prefer it when senior MPs have different views.

Who said they all have to tow a Ďparty lineí.

I talk to loads of people about politics and they all have different opinions.

Why should MPs be any different?

And why should Labour have to be a perfect organisation full of MPs who agree on everything whilst the Tories get away with all sorts of rubbish in the media?

The problem is he's constantly saying things that aren't the party line as if they are the party line. Things such as the Labour Party is the party of remain. Trying to break GDPR by asking to be copied into any complaints. For a deputy leader to be doing such things is quite disgraceful to be honest.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having differing opinions and one of the great things about the LP is the broad range of opinions.

I donít have much time for Tom Watson myself because I donít agree with much of what he says but I think he contributes to healthy debate.

Remember when Tony Blairís MPs had a pager which told them all what to say when a political issue arose? A lot of people said that was just manipulation of the partyís public image.

Now we have almost the opposite and thatís not acceptable either although we can have Tory heavyweights disagreeing so much they have been thrown out of the party but thatís ok, itís just Boris getting the job done.

Clearly this is a pro corbyn forum, HC is right about healthy debate. The forum though is imho not representative of society in general. Corbyn is costing Labour power. He is a drain on Labours success.

Looking forward to the next vote be that referendum or GE

Watson is to the Labour Party what Peter Heathfield was to the National Union of Mineworkers[V]

Keep going Tom - everytime you speak your credibility drops further

He is in a massively pro-leave seat and has now alienated many Labour MPs who were his natural allies eg Caroline Flint and Stephen Kinnock

Won't be long before he starts to advocate revoking article 50 without a referendum like the Lib Dems (the party he really belongs to)
