I was in the Riverside's lowest ever crowd that night, for Boro 3 Northampton 1...

David Murphy...1st scorer, on his debut, I think ?

Really did change the world. Wonder how different things might have been or would Bush have found another reason to go to war with Iraq?

I was in Malta onboard HMS Illustrious about to embark on a 3 month exercise with 12 fully loaded Harriers onboard. That was squeeky bum time. And that wasn't only because of the Navy lads!!! Us RAF lads carried our soap on a rope!!

I lived over near stockton uni then.
I remember some basterrd students renting next door. Not sure where they were from, but i do remember them saying what a great fightback for the underdogs. And people will take notice of the smaller man and that America will not push them around anymore. Won't lie, at the time i just ignored them as i was more interested in sowing my oats back then.

I was having a few birthday pints with people from work that lunchtime when the news broke. Shocking.

My evening drinks with mates was a subdued affair.

Remember getting up in the afternoon having worked nights and my brother rang and said are you watching the news, a plane's hit the world trade centre.Turned the telly on to see a plane hitting the WTC thinking it was a rerun and then finding out it was the second plane, never ever seen anything like it,sad times.

Mate was moored in harbour that morning taking random pictures with his new camera. Has some unbelievable shots including one of the first plane flying overhead. Its very emotional looking at them after all these years.
