Sorry Lads for posting about football.

Probably the most enjoyable England game I have seen
For a long time.

Come on England.

Sterling by far Englands most important player - his pace, creativity, dribbling, willingness etc. amazing 🔥🔥🔥

Amazing to see how much he has developed since he left Liverpool.

I've enjoyed watching this England team for 18 months now. Perhaps more. Good bunch of lads who clearly enjoy representing their Country.

Two threads doing my head in. Anyway whatever thread this is an incredible result not least because Kosovo looks for a lot of that half as useful

Bit harsh that Cardiff. Everyone makes mistakes and Keane got a nightmare ball from Barkley

Harsh but I genuinely think that.

On the goalkeeper off the line law if VAR is going to pick these up why isn't the referees assistant picking up that Kosovo keeper on the penalty

Absolutely brilliant game. This is what footy should be about. Fun

Best international I’ve seen in years. Fair play to the Kosovans, giving it a real go and great to watch.

Really hope they make the finals

I'm absolutely baffled how anyone can think Kane is overrated. He's the most complete forward england has produced(?) in my time watching football. He's like shearer and sheringham combined. And his goal scoring record is outstanding

opinions are like buttholes though [^]

Entertaining game....but I find it hard watching that central midfield. Barclay has the ability to drive forward but seems to be having it coached out if him. I found it painfull watching 3 players playing backwards all the time and playing into the Kosovan hands. They couldn’t handle us attacking them but we stopped

“Sterling by far Englands most important player - his pace, creativity, dribbling, willingness etc. amazing 🔥🔥🔥“

A cheeky loan bid in January it is then.

I was saddened to hear about the threats Rice has been receiving since his switch to England. I know he isn’t that great, but whoever these England fans are want locking up.

If you are going to give away two goals then best to do it in a game when you score five. As well as Kosovo played, arguably they really only created one goal. They were great to watch though.

Sterling was phenomenal, unplayable in the first half, unlucky not to score in the second when his dink skimmed the keeper's shin. Penalty should have been retaken and keeper booked he was way off his line. But great entertainment, couldn't take my eyes off the game, which isn't something that you could say about any England team since (perhaps) Euro 96?

boro19 - not exactly like Britt. At least Kane's peno was saved, and not in Row Z!

The Kosovo keeper was about 6'8" too!!

Cuthbert, I thought they’d given him a kid’s goal! What a giant.

That Kosovan lad should have been sent off for that terrible challenge in the second half. He just stuck his knee in the England player’s nuts.

'Sterling was phenomenal' He was indeed. He's what makes England tick

Lovely to see him doing it for country as well as club, after some of the stick he's had in the past. Our best player by some way

Entertaining game, excellent in attack, but England are consistently weak at the back.

Knocked out of the World Cup and the Nations League by shoddy defending.
Can only outscore so many teams.

England have some class attacking players in Kane and Sterling, Sancho also if he keeps improving.
Defensively look rocky, Pickford is an okay keeper but not one of the best. Keane looks out of his depth at international level. Trent AA looks better going forward than defending.

Agree that midfield 3 didn’t work either.

Good thing is England have options and can try different players.

Declan Rice the complete weak link.

Henderson, as much as it pains me to say, was quality, just keeping it simple.

Barkley, won foul after foul and was good at driving it forward. Made up for terrible error.

Rice, misplaced so many passes it was unreal, but stayed on?

Sterling, still lacking in composure in final ball at times.

Sancho, I thought was our most complete player, composed, quick, selfless and also some of the balls he played in were brilliant. Pace, touch, finishing (although almost missed a sitter).

Kane needs to do more, a bit laxidazy if that makes sense, and my Spurs supporting best mate agrees.

Chilwell a great game for the most part.

TTA - right back, actually poor.

Centre halves, awful start to finish, Maguire a breath of fresh air going forwards, but panics at the back.

Pickford, how many times have we seen him lose control of his back line?

Southgate - waited too long to make a change a la Karanka.

Rashford came on, had a chance in 60 seconds and probably could and should have scored.

Meh.

So many things.

Those front three couldn't break down Chiellini and co.

Still, far better than the last what, 21 years?

Don't disagree with most of what you said, but can't see how you could watch that and see anyone but Sterling as our best player.

3 assists, 1 goal, 1 just saved effort, a multitude of other chances that people could have put away.

I don't think Sancho did much of note beyond the two goals, which were almost all down to Sterling, and the second he nearly messed up.
Edit: the own goal too, I'd thought that was Alexander-Arnold for some reason.

Also Barkley dived for the penalty.

Fair play to Kosovo — they really scared the living daylights out of England, although you’d have to say that we need to improve for the finals defensively

With Kane, Sterling, Sancho, Rashford and Hudson-Odoi England have serious quality up front.

However, the midfield doesn't look right. I'm not sure Rice should be first choice and Barkley was poor. England really need Foden in the team. I'd say Oxlaid-Chamberlain too.

You have to accept players making mistakes when you learn to play in a certain way. City made loads under Pep in his first season, they still do occasionally but they score 6 every game.

We do need to tighten up but give me this any day of the week than what we had under previous managers

A few fairly interesting facts about last nights game.

Sancho first teenager to score two goals for England since Rooney in Euro 2004

Kane first to miss a penalty for England since Beckham also in Euro 2004.

First time England shipped 3 goals at home in a competitive game since the Wally with the Brolly match against Croatia.
