Showed everything they didn't - drive, determination and passion. They should be ashamed of their performances against a League Two side, quite frankly. Saville shouldn't even be in the squad when it comes to league games unless there are injuries or suspensions. Pathetic player. |

I’ve looked and looked since he arrived and I just can’t see this 8million pound signing we simply had to have that much we broke his loan to make it permanent. A classic meh player. |

Footballs a funny old game. Last season nobody wanted McNair and Fletcher and now our best players. Sav will come good as he did at millwall he just needs to get the confidence back. He’s got it in him just everyone pins his £8m price tag on him which is pathetic. |

McNair and Fletcher have always showed signs. Saville has shown nothing. |

I was calling for McNair all last season as I know how well liked he was at sunlun. I fact I made the comment how can he start for his country but not even make our bench so you can count me out if that statement. |

He doesn't look a right back but adds energy and some skill in a more central role. Will become a fan's favourite with a few more performances like tonight and first half Saturday. |

Here’s my post from last season zorro_mfc Posted on 05/04/2019 19:02 Paddy McNair what has happened to him Report Message | Email Message To A Friend | Edit | Reply To Message Seems good enough by his country to start both European qualifiers (alongside Saville) but not deemed good enough for our bench. Surely we can get a player of his ability into our squad dynamic and why didn’t we try to partner him along side Saville as he plays for his country. We all know he isn’t right back so can we at lest try him further forward in a role more akin to the one he plays in wearing green. |

Saville was awful. That short ish pass to bola where he nearly took his head off was truly a wtf moment mCNair looks good as is Fletcher. His finishing is decent and showed some good close control to slip past some defenders at times. Well done to him too. |

“McNair and Fletcher have always showed signs. Saville has shown nothing.” Other then being our top scoring midfielder last season i guess |

Saville was a lot better second half he did not seem interested first half. He’s a link up and lay it off type of player though, you won’t get him surging forward like McNair does. It’s increasingly hard to understand why McNair wasn’t played regularly last season. Tav has plenty of energy in him but needs to take his opportunities when they arise. Would you pick him against Blackburn? I don’t think he did enough. |

I totally agree with goingnowhere. Shotton was absolute pants when he first came, then developed into an indispensable part of our defence. This season he looks pants again. Fletcher looked pathetic in his first games, but much better after his loan at Blunderland and now looks the part. Until this season McNair looked very poor. He looks better in midfield but certainly has not got an eye for a goal. We are really short of goals from midfield. |

"Until this season McNair looked very poor" Really? Playing at right back? I don't think he ever got a start at centre mid. He looked decent enough in a back 3 for a few games. |

McNair does have an eye for goal in my opinion. He could easily have had 2 goals against Brentford. If he keeps on doing what he's doing I can see him getting into double figures this season. |

I still wasn’t sure about McNair after Brentford but he did enough to convince me v. Crewe and certainly looks streets ahead of Clayton right now. Fletcher looks a very different player with a bit of confidence. Despite results am feeling very positive about the season under Woody. UTB ⚽️⚽️⚽️ UTB ⚽️ |

I think Fletcher just Needed a bit of stability and confidence back. He was tipped for big things as a youth, a quick Google search will show several articles from 4 or 5 years ago tipping him as the next big player at Man U. But he never played for then got loaned out, then got sold to west ham, played a hand full of games then less than a year later got sold too us played a hand full of games for us then got loaned out all that before he was 22! Like most forwards they need to feel loved and wanted or they don't perform. McNair made it clear he prefers to play in midfield so I assume when he was signed that is what he was told or assumed he would play, then he was rather not in the squad or played out of position, but still playing well for his country in midfield, he must of been thinking 'what do I need to do just to play' McNair was also tipped for big things at Man U. I'm just glad the Coaching team seem to be giving these lads there confidence back as that can only be a good thing for everyone. |

I really cant see Tav playing in centre of mid, was really surprised when woody said that was his best position.....he looks lost in there. |
