Someone from the Gazette, as it's a completely made up quote

It won't be a made up quote. They'd get in big trouble for that. It'll be a statement from Boro's press team/person.

Surely the sort of jobs they are cutting back on are relatively low cost and we could carry them at the expense of some of the dross in the playing squad. I would've thought we saved enough money on not having to pay goal bonuses last season to pay for all the backroom staff anyway.

I agree with Marsked. Once upon a time you would see Dave Allen - Boro Spokesman. Now itís smoke and mirrors.

Meanwhile Gibson is spending £52m on his new house at Kirkbymoorside.

Surely he can afford to manage Doris's minimum wage in the cleaning department or are we 'that' close to breaking financial fair play?

It makes you even more sick when you think the likes of Braithwaite and Gestede are on multi million pound contracts.

It really does make me question FFP, I get the idea behind it. But we have a chairman who clearly has money, otherwise he wouldn't be building a £52 million house. We still have players who are sat on the bench or playing for other clubs on fat cheques. So the only people suffering as a result of FFP are the average joes working for the club who are just making an honest living to cover their bills.

Thought pulis had sorted us financially. Clearly not. As stated above sell one of our average players and keep local people in jobs not some football mercenary who doesn't care about the boro one iota.

What Gibson spends on his house is up to him.
Shame it can't count as allowable against FFP.

Gibson can spend as much as he wants on his house. FFS, what is wrong with some people?!

I am not bothered about Gibson spending his own hard earned money of his house. My point was that he clearly has money, but as a result of FFP, it is the regular people working for Boro who are suffering and losing their jobs.

Maybe FFP should exclude costs of the bar staff, canteen workers, cleaners, stewards, club shop staff etc in order to protect those jobs, while stopping clubs going out and spending insane money on players and going bankrupt as a result.

Of course he can spend what he wants, the point is that we must be on the verge of breaking FFP if things are this dire.

Getting rid of Bausor and Gill would knock a big hole in the savings required.

We will be nowhere near breaking FFP for this 3 year period.

They divide the club into two, playing side and Riverside Stadium operations, dont they.
I think the feeling was we are still carrying Premier staffing levels. Am wondering whether some senior posts at the Riverside will go. Very sad for those that may lose their jobs.

True, but since it's a moving 3 year period, 2018-2021 might be more problematic.

Should just sell the stadium back to himself. Itís worked for Derby, Villa and now Sheff Wed.

Time for some equity injection from a FFP perspective.
I agree the 18-21 3 year period will be the one challenging if there isnt an injection, or an against the odds promotion.

2018-21 will be challenging even with equity cash injected.

Unless the club is promoted of course.
