Let's stick with Jonathan.

Random fact (stolen from Harry Pearson):

There have only ever been two occasions when the league title has been won by a team with a manager called John or Jon, the latest being in 1936.

Probably best if we don't try to shorten our new manager's name then.

Let's stick with Jonathan.
If we come 2nd, can we call him Jon or Jonny?

Let's stick with Jonathan.
I'll accept that so long as we revert to Jonathan in the Premier League, where it's all about top spot.

Another random fact - only 2 teams with City in their name have ever won the title.
