Luton - Home sections sold out

Home sections all sold out for our first game so atmosphere should be good.

Boro haven't even announced when our tickets go on sale yet despite promises last year to make away tickets available earlier.

One of my gripes is EFL rules say they must be made available 4 weeks before fixture to the away club, but for a game now just 3 and a half weeks away, nothing happening.

We will get 1000 - 1200 max so they will go quickly despite being on TV.

That said the ground and surrounding area is a fecking dump. Thats coming from a guy who lived in Boro for over 30 years[;)]

The worst ground in the Championship.

It was always going to be full in the home end. Managed to get two in there mind as I live in North London. There’s going to be a few Boro in there I suspect.

Luton Town website see their ground in a different light [smi]

Kenilworth Road is an old, and historic stadium, set in amongst the terraced streets between Kenilworth Road at the southern end of the stadium and Oak Road at the northern end. Access to the Oak Road end is quite unique, via entrances set between terrace houses on either side.

Terrific old ground, you go through back gardens to get in some sections.
Gimme that any day to the soulless identikit stadiums of reading, stoke, derby, boro.

It's been quite a remarkable rise for Luton in recent years. I've never been to the town, only the airport, but from what I've heard it's about as bad as it gets. Stacey Dooley is from there I believe. Not sure why that's relevant.

It is a horrible town and awful derelict ground.
If you prefer it to The Riverside then you have a tile off.[rle]

You do walk down narrow passageways that you feel should belong to householders to get into the away end.

They have risen three leagues in recent years and Luton is a similar size place to the Boro, so it would be a shock if they could not sell 12k tickets.

Most expensive home tickets were £25.

We will probably sell 1200 tickets quite easily as its a new ground for people under 35 and not too far from London.

Only difference being the town is probably full of arsenal and Spurs fans so less of them kicking about

"I've never been to the town, only the airport, but from what I've heard it's about as bad as it gets".

No, it's worse than that, far worse.

Was always going to be a sell out for home fans. They are Champions, unbeaten at home all last season (23 matches) and its the first game of the season.

Their supporters deserve genuine credit for sticking with their club despite great adversity.

Real old school stadium. The main stand is like a rabbit warren underneath and is a great reminder of the past.

Their fans also display an impressive flag referencing their views on the Football Association!

Well the guy who said that has called himself cemetery gates so he probably has a weird perspective on buildings. Kenilworth Road is one of the reasons why new stadia were built. Not fit for purpose in the 20th century never mind the 21st.

Bless em’. Boro is their cup final!

At least playing them in August means the pitch is still decent versus playing them in December on that old ground and dodgy pitch (as I remember it)

Will be a tough start against newly promoted team

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) wont be there. A former member of their “firm”. He might be watching it in the nick though.
