Apparently no money for players we have loads of dead wood in the squad . We are lacking any sort of balance in the squad itís a poisoned chalice why would you want the grief ?

Agree. I was going to post something similar. He's been thrown under the bus, and probably sees it as a great opportunity. Hope I'm wrong

I think he is tasked with a Mowbray job which is a shame how Boro simply are just going around in cycles of boom and bust

Why would Woodgate take this job on ?

Exactly. Woodgate will make a few bob either way. Meantime the club will go into free fall with no guarantee of a Bruce Rioch type revival. By September we will be in the bottom half playing to a half empty stadium. Poor show Gibbo.

Why would Woodgate take this job on ?

Heís a Boro lad and has been asked to manage his home town club. Heís been following a career path to go into coaching / management. Why the XXXXXX would he not snap Gibbos hand off. Unfortunately thereís so much dead wood in the playing staff that he will struggle to move on our Ďsupportí are unlikely to give him the time to succeed. Might help if Gibbo comes out and explains the long term plan but if this board is a barometer of what the mood is going to be like in the ground come August then the lad hasnít got a chance.

"Apart from fans who has ever said we have no money?"

The clubs accountants, albeit not publicly.

I bet Johnny Woodgate knows more about the game and people in it than most of us could write on the short side of a postage stamp.

Give the lad a chance.

Roofie I agree with you but the point I am making is I donít see how he is going to improves us , with no money and dead wood signings. I hope I am wrong but Gibbo is doing this on the cheap and we all know it . If itís a case we play attacking football and really push on the youth through the academy then great. This for me is the biggest gamble by Gibbo

Apart from they definitely have TSAB. From the horses mouth, the actual horse. I have nothing to gain from claiming so and I have limited general inside knowledge but that is a fact regardless of whether you choose to believe me.

Why would Woodgate take this job on ?

Because he wanted it, and he did enough in an interview to persuade the owner to hire him.

Because Gibson will have persuaded him like he persuaded Southgate.
